“Kingdom Hearts 3” has gone through some changes over the course of its development, and the studio behind it is determined to make this the best installment in the series to date. Of course, they have a lot of pressure on them considering the huge popularity of the series, but with all we’ve been hearing about the game so far, it’s starting to seem like this is going to be a very solid release with a lot to offer to fans of the previous games.
One of the things that are changing are the graphics – it looks like Square Enix have been putting a lot of effort into coming up with an advanced, complex rendering engine that is going to take the game to the next level and make it look its best. Sure, fans of the series generally don’t prioritize the graphics over the great gameplay it offers, but this is also an important factor that contributes a lot to the immersion potential of the game, and it’s important to treat it as seriously as everything else.
The Unreal Engine has allowed the studio to do everything they’ve wanted to do, including giving them a solid platform for developing more advanced rendering techniques. The game will feature some special shaders and detailed effects that are going to contribute a lot to its aesthetics, and it might be quite the improvement over past entries in the franchise. In fact, some experts are saying that this could easily turn out to be one of the best games to come out in this corner of the market in quite the long time.
And yet, we have no idea when exactly to expect the game, nor what kinds of other major changes it’s going to feature. Fans have been dying to learn a little more about the gameplay and how it will evolve in the new title, but we are left to guess for the most part. There are plenty of rumors regarding the changes that have been implemented in the game and their potential implications on the bigger picture, but until we hear something from Square Enix themselves, it’s probably safe to take everything with a grain of salt.
Meanwhile, the studio has also been working on some side projects related to “Kingdom Hearts”, but those are being kept under wraps for the time being. We don’t know the exact details, but it looks like they are actively trying to expand the franchise in multiple different directions, giving old school fans a lot of new exciting content while also making the game an attractive offer for newcomers to the series.
Square Enix have a lot on their plate right now, with “Final Fantasy XV” in the pipeline as well. They have been hard at work on both games and they are coming along nicely, according to reports, but they will likely need more time to properly finish both releases and prepare them for the market.
Fans have been asking on a constant basis to be let in on the development process and to get some insight into what’s happening to their favorite titles. But knowing Square Enix, we won’t hear anything specific before the studio is confident in their progress on the game in question and they have something more interesting to reveal to their fans. Until then, speculation is all we have and we’ll need to deal with it as much as possible. Thankfully though, it looks like the actual release might not be that far off, at least in one of those franchises.
