Especially if the delay doesn’t have a meaningful reason attached to it – there have been some rumors that “Kingdom Hearts 3” is going to come out later just so it can be made prettier. And considering the fact that the majority of the game’s fans don’t really care for better graphics on such a level and just want to see the sequel itself, that might not be such a good move for the studio.
Hopefully this isn’t true and they have some surprises up their sleeve that we aren’t aware of, as there is a lot that can be done with this franchise and Square Enix are also a studio that can utilize this potential better than most other companies on the market.
In the meantime, fans have been keeping a close eye on the developments around the title and are waiting for any new information about the release of the long-awaited sequel.
We still don’t know exactly when “Kingdom Hearts 3” or “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” are coming, but Square Enix should definitely take their time and not rush those releases, as they are quite important right now. The reception that those games get will be critical not just for Square Enix as a studio, but for the gaming industry as a whole, and it’s a very delicate ordeal for the company to get these releases right.
