With the reports and speculations on the release date of the crossover role-playing game “Kingdom Hearts 3” on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 pretty much consistent in pointing to March 2017, subsequent rumors focus on the possible plot or storyline of the upcoming video game.
Latest reports have it that “Kingdom Hearts 3” shall have an exciting story and gameplay that would feature a keyblade battle between the light and the darkness.
As every gamer knows, game protagonist Sora and his friends will be representing the light while Master Xenahort will be fronting for the darkness, reports the Parent Herald.
Japanese game developer Square Enix has not officially made any announcement regarding the game’s release date or plotline but it seems that the leaks have been very consistent in stating that it would indeed feature a keyblade war.
It is imperative for Sora and the “Kingdom Hearts 3” protagonists to collect the seven guardians of light in order to stand a chance against Master Xenahort, who was the one who initiated the keyblade war.
Sora shall draw the support from his friends including his childhood friend Riku, his comrades Donald and Goofy, and King Mickey who is willing to boost Sora’s defense with his mighty strength.
Wrapping up the story of the franchise
There are also reports saying that “Kingdom Hearts 3” will finally wrap up the stories of the “Kingdom Hearts” video game franchise as it is reported to be the final game of the series, details the University Herald.
Knowing Square Enix, however, many critics do not believe that “Kingdom Hearts 3” is going to be the last as the Japanese game developer has come up with subplots and sub-stories game after game in the “Kingdom Hearts” franchise as well as in its other popular series “Final Fantasy.”
There were previous reports saying that “Kingdom Hearts 3” would come out in the gaming consoles this year but that is already out of the question at this time.
After all, the focus of Square Enix is the upcoming release of “Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue” in January next year. “Kingdom Hearts 3” could subsequently come out in March.
Square Enix just rolled out its other major title “Final Fantasy XV” in September so it is very unlikely for the game developer to launch two big games in a year.
Sora’s new forms
However, the developer recently released a couple of screenshots from “Kingdom Hearts 3” showing the fans the new forms of game’s main protagonist Sora.
The first image shows Sora in a new Drive Form called the Guard Form, which, when accessed, transforms the Keyblade of Sora into a shield or also called as Herc’s Shield.
The screenshot also revealed that the setting of that particular scene in “Kingdom Hearts 3” is Mount Olympus, which confirmed previous reports that Disney’s “Hercules” will be one of the worlds in the game.
The image also shows that Square Enix is looking to take players of “Kingdom Hearts 3” to the skies and into iconic landmarks for some awesome and great adventures.
The second screenshot of “Kingdom Hearts 3” released by Square Enix features the other new form of Sora in the game called as the Power Form.
The developer, through its official Twitter handle, explained that the Power Form was edited as it is the Keyblade from the world that has not been released yet so it has transformed into a hammer shape.
The people behind the Twitter account of Square Enix’s “Kingdom Hearts 3” explained that the release of the screenshots is an idea by Game Director Tetsuya Nomura to sort of quench fan thirst for the game.
Incidentally, a remaster collection of “Kingdom Hearts 3” for the PlayStation 4 has been announced by Square Enix recently.
The collection includes “Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories,” “Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days,” “Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix,” and “Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.” This is in addition to the polished and improved versions of the “Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMix” and “2.5 ReMix,” which are also coming out next year.
