‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ to Feature Disney-Themed Worlds of ‘Brave’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

Japanese game developer Square Enix has been rumored to make the announcement on the highly-anticipated crossover role-playing game “Kingdom Hearts 3” in the upcoming D23 Expo to be held on August 14 to 16 at Anaheim, California. It is widely believed that the game is set to be released to the next generation gaming consoles and the PC early next year.

The developer will reportedly present never-before-seen gameplay trailers, new reveals, as well as surprises from Disney Interactive’s most anticipated games including “Kingdom Hearts 3,” notes Design & Trend.

The third iteration of the “Kingdom Hearts” video game franchise shall have the characters and world of “Tangled” crossing over to the game that features Sora as well as Donald Duck, Goofy, and Mickey Mouse.

Game director Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that it is Rapunzel of “Tangled” who will be the official Disney character and world that shall cross over to “Kingdom Hearts 3.”

Nomura explained that they want to polish up everything and ensure that it meets their own standards before they bring it to Disney for approval. The process now is quite different from before because the animation studios are already involved. He added that Square Enix wanted to make sure that they can realize the vision for the hair of Rapunzel in “Tangled” given its uniqueness before seeking Disney’s thumbs up for it.

During Square Enix presentation of the trailer of “Kingdom Hearts 3” at the E3 2015, it was clearly shown that the visual aspects of the game have greatly evolved a lot vis-à-vis “Kingdom Hearts 2.”

Even the particle effects within the battle have been improved. Placed against the sheer scale of it, a gamer would surely notice how great the improvements have been made into the game.

The world of “Kingdom Hearts 3” may not be comparable to massively open-world game titles, but it is nonetheless bigger than its two predecessors.

Transitioning from one stage to the next has also become seamless according to Nomura because of the decrease in load times. In the previous games, gamers run to the end of an area and it would go dark before the next stage is unveiled. With “Kingdom Hearts 3,” the cut-scene has become instantaneous.

Other Disney-themed worlds

In addition to the world of “Tangled,” the “Kingdom Hearts 3” trailer during the E3 2015 gave gamers a peek at another Disney-themed world, and that is the Olympus Coliseum from “Hercules,” notes the Franchise Herald.

Nomura also confirmed that the bulk of the story of “Kingdom Hearts 3” will take players to new locations.

Now there are rumors that two more Disney-themed worlds would be featured in the game including “Brave” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

However, Square Enix or Nomura has yet to make a statement or announcement to confirm or deny the rumors about the additional two Disney-themed worlds in “Kingdom Hearts 3.”

Not suitable for the game

Despite the general receptiveness of fans and gamers on the Disney worlds and characters on “Kingdom Hearts 3,” there are still a good number of fans of the role-playing game that would like to see some things changed before the game officially hits the gaming consoles and the PC sometime early next year.

Some of the fans of the game would like to see Square Enix easing up or better yet, excluding some of the Disney worlds and characters in the game because either that they have already outlived their usefulness or purpose or they are just too cute for a role-playing game.
