There are various rumors about the possible release date of “Kingdom Hearts 3”, and nobody seems to know for sure what to expect at the moment. Fans have been asking for information for quite a while now, but Square Enix are silent as usual, and we don’t expect them to come out with any official statements until they’re ready with their marketing materials.
With all the attention focused on the studio right now, we can’t say we blame them. “Kingdom Hearts 3” is the sequel to one of the most iconic franchises in the history of gaming, and all the reports we’ve seen about it so far have painted it in an even more interesting light for fans.
It sounds like Square Enix want to wrap up their current work on the various HD remakes they’ve got on the table right now, after which they’re apparently going to focus on “Kingdom Hearts 3” more actively. Whether this means that we’re going to see some reports about the game by the end of this year or not is unclear, but hopefully we will catch a glimpse of it among the promotion of the other games.
The remakes are currently scheduled for January 24 and March 31, and after that there is nothing officially announced from the studio. They should have a pretty good momentum built up after the launches of the new remakes, which should help them promote “Kingdom Hearts 3” very easily if they are indeed planning to release it at that time.
Some fans have also been expressing their criticism towards the studio for apparently focusing so much on their work on the HD remakes rather than on the main installment in the franchise, but nobody knows for sure what’s really going on behind the doors of Square Enix.
It’s entirely possible that “Kingdom Hearts 3” is actually their main focus and the studio has made strong progress with it, but they just don’t want to show it until they’re ready to handle the marketing of the game appropriately.
What new characters could get added to the game? That’s the second biggest question on most people’s minds right now, judging by discussions about “Kingdom Hearts 3” online. Disney has quite a large number of franchises at their disposal here, especially after their recent acquisitions. It would be interesting to see a crossover between “Star Wars” and some other popular series presented in “Kingdom Hearts 3”, and there has been no shortage of rumors about what we might see.
The game will not only introduce new Disney characters and environments though, but it will also give fans more opportunities to explore them in interesting ways. We’re going to see the gameplay expanded with various new features, particularly aimed at giving players extra mobility, and we’re curious to see how gamers are going to make use of that newfound freedom.
There should be some interesting reports online immediately after the game is out, and we expect to see it with an active representation on YouTube and Twitch.
“Zootopia” is another recently released IP that has been drawing a lot of attention from fans, and it looks like an obvious choice to include it in “Kingdom Hearts 3” as well. However, fans should keep in mind that there is no shortage of potential candidates for inclusion right now, and it’s going to be a tough choice for Square Enix. They can’t please everyone in the end, but the important thing is that the combination of characters and settings works well as a whole.
