It is not a requirement per se but players of the upcoming crossover role-playing game “Kingdom Hearts 3” would really appreciate the game more if they have already played the previous games of the franchise.
If they have not yet done so, they should start considering doing it before the game officially rolls out sometime next year.
This was the suggestion of “Kingdom Hearts” series director Tai Yasue during a recent interview. He explained that the story of “Kingdom Hearts 3” will be big and fun no matter how many games that the players have played in the franchise.
He said however that it would be better for players to have played at least the eight games since “Kingdom Hearts 2,” reports iDigital Times
Before the “Kingdom Hearts 3” is released on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 next year, Japanese game developer Square Enix is set to release “Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep” on the Nintendo 3DS this coming December and the HD remastered version of “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8” for the PlayStation 4.
Yasue pointed out that “Kingdom Hearts 3” is a game that will be better if the player understands all the other stories. However, he also admitted that players can still enjoy the upcoming game without them following the whole arc.
The main reason for the second reasoning is the fact that all “Kingdom Hearts” stories have a conclusion at the end of each Disney world. While playing and knowing the whole story arc to expand a player’s understanding of the game is ideal, there is still a lot of fun in each Disney world.
Gameplay mechanics for ‘Kingdom Hearts 3’
Yasue also disclosed part of the gameplay mechanics of “Kingdom Hearts 3.” He explained that the development team wanted to incorporate a lot of the moves from “Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep,” Aqua’s magical spells, and her style changes.
He added that they also wanted to change toward an enhanced version of the gameplay. As a result, the moves look a lot flashier but not too difficult as well.
The game director said that the franchise has the same sort of command menus as the numbered titles II and III of the series, which he described as the coming together of the aspects of at least two games in the series.
He also assured gamers that despite the delay in the release date of the “Kingdom Hearts 3,” it would be worth the wait.
Announcements during the game’s concert tour
Square Enix has announced recently that more information about “Kingdom Hearts 3” shall be made during the game’s scheduled concert tour, including the all-important announcement of its release date.
Another thing that players are anticipating on “Kingdom Hearts 3” is the confirmation of Disney worlds in the game.
“Kingdom Hearts” shall be touring across the globe in the next few months. The concert tour is part of the 15th Anniversary Special of the whole “Kingdom Hearts” franchise, according to game director Tetsuya Nomura.
The first of the series of “Kingdom Hearts” concert tour will happen in Japanese venues such as Tokyo, Aichi, and Osaka. After the opening of the world concert tour called the “Kingdom Hearts: First Breath,” the event will also arrive in different places outside Japan.
The “Kingdom Hearts” world tour is expected to be in France, England, Singapore, China and the United States,” reports Chatt Sports Net.
“Kingdom Hearts 3” has yet to come out but there are now rumors going around that its potential climax or ending has already been hinted or teased by spin-off game entitled “Kingdom Hearts X” that came out in Japan recently.
There is a modified version of “Kingdom Hearts X” which was released to mobile devices in the US called as “Kingdom Hearts Unchained X.”
