‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ Mobile Game Version ‘Kingdom Hearts: Unchained Chi’ to Launch in Japan this Month!

As the highly-anticipated crossover role-playing game “Kingdom Hearts 3” is still to be released on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One next year, Japanese game developer Square Enix decided to quench gamer thirst with the latest offering from the same video game franchise.

While most gamers were expecting Square Enix to make a big reveal on two of its most anticipated games – “Final Fantasy XV” and “Kingdom Hearts 3” – in the upcoming Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2015 to be held at the Makuhari Messe Convention Center in Tokyo on September 17 to 20, the company’s final game lineup for the event does not say otherwise.

Apparently, Square Enix will be highlighting in the event the “Mobius Final Fantasy,” “Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward,” “World of Final Fantasy,” Final Fantasy Record Keeper,” among several others, details Product Reviews.

However, in order to lessen the anticipation on the third installment of the “Kingdom Hearts” video game franchise, Square Enix will actually be launching in Japan this month the mobile version of the game officially titled “Kingdom Hearts: Unchained Chi.”

There is still no word yet from the game developer whether it will release the mobile game version of “Kingdom Hearts” to gaming markets outside of Japan although there are reports that the game might also come to the US sometime in the future. However, what Square Enix is certain is that the mobile game brings the previously browser only game to a much better platform, notes Attack of the Fanboy.

It is expected that the game will be arriving at both iOS and Android mobile devices which is meant to scratch the itch of gamers while still waiting for “Kingdom Hearts 3.”

The plot of the mobile game is connected in a way to “Kingdom Hearts 3” but instead of gamers using the characters in the gaming platform, they will actually use their own avatar in the mobile version of the game. But the whole thing in the “Kingdom Hearts: Unchained Chi” takes place before the Keyblade War which means its storyline is even ahead of the first “Kingdom Hearts” video game.

‘Big Hero 6’ in the game

Square Enix unravelled the gameplay trailer of “Kingdom Hearts 3” during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 held in June and subsequently announced that the video game will be released next year on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

During the gameplay trailer, it was clear that the Disney-themed worlds that protagonist Sora will go into with pals Donald Duck and Goofy are that of Rapunzel’s “Tangled” and “Hercules.”

Gamers thought that Square Enix already settled for the two Disney-themed worlds for “Kingdom Hearts 3.” They were wrong as the game developer pulled a surprise and made the announcement during the D23 Expo held at Anaheim, California on August 14 to 16.

Through a concept art, Square Enix showed that the world of “Big Hero 6” will also be integrated into “Kingdom Hearts 3” as Sora is shown riding an armoured Baymax with his Keyblade extended out toward what looks like a dark Baymax.

Astute gamers and “Big Hero 6” fans later on explained that the dark Baymax is the one who was left in the portal when Hiro and his team tried to rescue the professor’s daughter from Yonkai. While the Baymax who is giving a ride to Sora is the new Baymax that Hiro developed using the original chip.

While Square Enix did not show any updated gameplay trailer featuring Baymax and the world of “Big Hero 6” at the D23 Expo, the concept art was more than enough to thrill gamers and fans of “Kingdom Hearts 3” to no end. It was more than enough to heighten the excitement for the release of the game next year, which was what the intention of the game developer in the first place in showing the concept art during the event.
