“Kingdom Hearts” is among the more interesting franchises in the gaming industry, and its fans have been waiting for the third major installment for quite a while now. At this point, people are desperate to get more details about the title and the developers’ plans for it, and while we’ve seen some interesting claims thrown around here and there, actual concrete facts remain relatively scarce. Which makes sense, because the sheer amount of hype surrounding this game means that its developers need to be very careful with what they’re revealing about it and how much they’re speaking, because it’s very easy to give fans the wrong impression right now.
The release date is not yet known, and it’s rumored that Square Enix will need some more time to properly polish the title and get it ready for the market. There have also been some minor rumors about issues in the development, but we don’t know if that’s true or not. We wouldn’t be surprised though, as a title as major as this could definitely encounter some problems during its production and the developers behind it should be prepared to deal with those issues as they arise.
Various elements of the game have been under discussion (and of course, speculation) by the community, including the soundtrack, story and the kinds of franchises that will be introduced into the mix. One of the interesting things about “Kingdom Hearts” is how it’s always blended its own story together with those of various popular Disney franchises, and of course this has also been one of the major points of speculation for fans.
It’s been rumored that “Toy Story” might make its way into “Kingdom Hearts 3”, and that would make some sense too as it’s one of the most popular franchises by Disney, even if it’s been relatively inactive lately. On the other hand, there have also been rumors about “Captain America” and “Star Wars”, but those ended up getting denied by the studio, much to the disappointment of some fans.
We’ve also been getting various hints about what the game might include from the developers themselves, including claims of a prominent new character coming back, someone who will delight players quite a bit and they will be excited to have him back. However, we don’t yet know who this character is exactly, and what the producers could be planning to do with him. According to Tetsuya Nomura though, some fans of the game must have already managed to break the puzzle and they know who the character is going to be.
Of course, this could have been just marketing talk meant to drive up the anticipation for the game and to get fans to talk about it even more, but even then it was a nice move by Nomura which generated a lot of attention towards the title briefly. Online discussions about “Kingdom Hearts 3” look quite interesting right now, and fans have been trying hard to figure out who the next major character in the game is going to be.
The little that Square Enix have been saying about the game on the official front has usually been to deny various rumors about it, the most recent example being the inclusion of Luke Skywalker and Captain America. While it’s probably a disappointing development for fans to hear those denials from the studio, it’s still better than to leave fans to get excited over time only to disappoint them in the end when it turns out that the characters aren’t really making it into the game.
