The new story in “Kingdom Hearts 3” will feature an older main character Sora who will engage in new adventures with the well-known characters from the previous games in the series, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck.
The lack of information regarding “Kingdom Hearts 3” has been somewhat compensated with a new teaser trailer that reveals important details about the storyline and the new characters of the game. Released last month at the E3 2015, the new gameplay trailer involves new information about battles, powers, new characters, and the storyline itself.
Since the official trailer has been released, reports have started coming out regarding the game’s storyline. According to the newest trailer, the gameplay hints of a new Key Blade war, notes Design & Trend.
The enemies appear in the Olympus Coliseum world and have shields that make their destruction more difficult. The trailer also suggests the enemy characters’ weakness towards fire magic, which generates the conclusion that using it might be the main tool for victory.
The trailer also shows the Heartless characters which can fly, following the air soldiers in the original “Kingdom Hearts.” In addition, the Heartless seem to be wearing Spartan helmets, which leads to the conclusion that some of the gameplay could be based on Greek mythology. Another part of the trailer that hints the story flow is the use of Minotaur-like enemies, which use group attacks with their horns.
The Heartless also include characters that look like flowers. These characters use sprouts to create more of their own kind. Respawning will give the player a difficult time to defeat the Heartless characters, and it is pointed out that they might be tied only to the “Tangled” world. But the information is inconclusive as of this time until the game is officially released.
The trailer also announces Sora’s key blade transformation. According to the E3 2015 trailer, Sora will now have the ability to transform the sword into many objects. This includes a transformation of the key blade into vehicles, guns, and many other objects.
The more familiar details involve Sora’s arrival to the familiar Twilight Town part. The Heartless characters include the characters of Large Bodies and Shadows, with which the players have known in the earlier games of the franchise.
In addition to the new worlds, Sora’s key blade is a major factor that will be incorporated in the gameplay. As the character gains more skills, and becomes more powerful, he will be able to transform the key blade into many forms.
An additional new type of enemy shown in the trailer is a new kind, that has a bow weapon and red hair. According to Design & Trend, speculations about the new character indicate that he might have originated from the movie “Brave.” The leading character in “Brave” is Merida, has long red hair and carries a bow weapon just like the Heartless character found in the trailer. The possible use of Merida in the new “Kingdom Hearts 3” has reportedly led to conclusions that the game might incorporate a “Brave” feature.
“Kingdom Hearts 3” director Tetsuya Nomura has revealed the possibility of incorporating a secret ending into the game. All “Kingdom Hearts” games have incorporated a secret video that served to announce future developments of the sequels. According to Design & Trend, the new iteration of the video game franchise will not be excluded as the cast is reportedly working on a new hidden video.
Other gameplay features include four different mechanics in battle, namely, free run, key blade, transformation, and team attacks. According to Nomura, the players will have freedom to fight in a way they find most convenient for them in the new gameplay.
