Tetsuya Nomura, game director of the cross-over role-playing video game franchise “Kingdom Hearts” recently stated that the upcoming “Kingdom Hearts 3” shall be the best game in the series.
In addition, he also said that it shall be overwhelmingly big fitting the possible conclusion of the video game series, Apparently, “Kingdom Hearts 3” shall be the last in the franchise, according to speculations, notes Game & Guide.
In a recent interview with a Japanese gaming magazine, Nomura revealed that he actually did not spread the story out on the game but more of separating the parts that would have ruined the tempo of “Kingdom Hearts 3” if they were told back then.
He explained that the game shall have a short intro and it will immediately start, hoping that even first time players would be able to follow along and start the game with nary a problem.
A good pre-requisite
However, Nomura also advised players that it would be better for them to play first “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” before diving into “Kingdom Hearts 3” as it would serve as the perfect pre-requisite for them to really appreciate and understand the plotline of the upcoming game.
Co-director Tai Yasue also confirmed that “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” will serve as the elaborate introduction for the third installment.
He said that game developer Square Enix will release the “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” in December this year before “Kingdom Hearts 3” finally makes it to the gaming consoles in the first half of next year.
Square Enix has yet to confirm though if “Kingdom Hearts 3” is going to be the last for the franchise although an overwhelming commercial success of the video game would surely open the possibility of another sequel to the series.
The game on the Nintendo NX
In addition to the release of “Kingdom Hearts 3” on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 next year, Square Enix is reportedly eyeing to have a version of the game for the upcoming Nintendo NX gaming console when it comes out around 2018.
According to reports, Square Enix has already committed to Nintendo its “Dragon Quest” and “Final Fantasy” franchises for the upcoming NX gaming platform. Lately, however, it seems that the Japanese game developer will be pushing as well for the inclusion of “Kingdom Hearts 3” in the roster of games on the NX, reports Gaming Bolt.
The speculations began when a listing of the upcoming “Kingdom Hearts 3” for the Nintendo NX was found on the EB Games Australia website recently before it was taken down.
But EB Games, later on, denied the posting and said that it was probably just a photoshopped image.
Still, it did not dampen the excitement of fans for the possible arrival of “Kingdom Hearts 3” on the Nintendo NX.
Square Enix appears to be optimistic that its upcoming game shall have more audience or players on a Nintendo gaming platform than in an Xbox One.
Incidentally, “Kingdom Hearts 3” is a game that will be better if the player understands all the other stories. However, Tai Yasue admitted that the player can still enjoy the upcoming game without him or her following the whole arc.
The main reason for this is the fact that all “Kingdom Hearts” stories have a conclusion at the end of each Disney world. While playing and knowing the whole story arc to expand a player’s understanding of the game is good, there is still a lot of fun in each Disney world.
Yasue also disclosed part of the gameplay mechanics of “Kingdom Hearts 3.” He explained that the development team wanted to incorporate a lot of the moves from “Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep,” Aqua’s magical spells, and her style changes.
He added that they also wanted to change toward an enhanced version of the gameplay. As a result, the moves look a lot flashier but not too difficult as well.
