‘Kingdom Hearts 3’ Developer Debunks Rumors that the Game Would Come Out Exclusively on the PlayStation 4

Japanese game developer Square Enix is debunking speculations saying that the crossover role-playing game “Kingdom Hearts 3” shall come out exclusively on the PlayStation 4.

The rumors began when “Kingdom Hearts 3” was reportedly removed from the listing of Xbox Store Japan recently.

The Square Enix official website and the Microsoft Store still have the “Kingdom Hearts 3” listed to be available for both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, notes Game & Guide.

True to the assumption of some gamers and critics, the absence of “Kingdom Hearts 3” in the listing of Xbox Store Japan is merely a glitch and will be corrected shortly. The developer said that there will be no changes on the target platforms of the game when it comes out next year, although it has yet to specify an exact release date for it.

Chances are pretty high

There are some critics who believe that “Kingdom Hearts 3” being a PlayStation 4 exclusive has a good leg to stand on.

It can be recalled that the two previous installments of the series were both released as PlayStation 4 exclusives.

Even the upcoming “Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue” will also come out as a PlayStation 4 only game when it rolls out in December this year.

But there are now reports saying that the remastered version of the game shall come out in January next year instead of December this year. Square Enix has yet to confirm if the latest rumors about it are true or not, reports the Ecumenical News.

Based on latest reports, “Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue” shall arrive in the Japanese market on January 12 and in the North American market on January 24.

Kairi joining the gang

The latest news is not congruent to the statements made by the Japanese game developer previously. Square Enix announced a few months ago that “Kingdom Hearts 2.8: Final Chapter Prologue” is going to come out in December this year.

Latest rumors have it that the Kairi will be joining Sora, Donald Duck, Goofy, Riku, and King Mickey as playable characters when the game finally unfolds next year.

The same speculations are also saying that there will be other playable characters in “Kingdom Hearts 3” though everything remains as speculation pending the confirmation or denial from Square Enix.

The rumors about Kairi becoming a playable character in “Kingdom Hearts 3” started going around when it was revealed during “Kingdom Hearts 2” that Kairi could potentially become a Keyblade master.

The same reports are also saying that Kairi shall become Sora’s love interest in the game. She will also be putting on display her uncanny skills in the third installment of the game.

Incidentally, there are now reports going around that “Kingdom Hearts 3” might finally come on the PC, in addition to its likely release on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

According to some reports, Square Enix shall reportedly start working on the game development for the PC platform.

Some critics note that while it is a huge possibility, Square Enix has yet to confirm or deny the rumors.

In contrast to the rumors that “Kingdom Hearts 3” shall be coming to the PC, there were also speculations that went around recently that the game might not come out on the Xbox One.

The rumors started going around when the game was taken out from the list of games to be featured on Xbox Live Japan. It was supposed to be included at the event but it was mysteriously taken off the list.

The reports sent fans of “Kingdom Hearts 3,” especially those on the Xbox One, into a frenzy because they thought that the new title is now going to be a Sony exclusive.

However, it was also reported recently that fans should not worry too much since there are reports saying that the game is already back in the list of Xbox Live Japan.
