It was a traumatic day for Kim Kardashian as she was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room early Monday by five armed masked men dressed as police officers.
E! News reports that the 35-year-old reality star was in the French capital for Paris Fashion Week. Kim was posting photos on her Instagram account of her Paris escapade with her mom and sister Kourtney.
Kourtney and Kris went back to Los Angeles earlier and Kim was supposed to fly back with sister Kendall, who was scheduled to do one more fashion show.
According to the French Interior Ministry, five men threatened a concierge with a weapon, handcuffed him, and forced him to open Kardashian’s private apartment at around 2 o’clock in the morning.
According to People Magazine, the reality star has just finished talking via Facetime with his brother Rob and his girlfriend Black Chyna when the five men entered her suite and threatened her.
The reality star was reportedly gagged and bound at her hands and feet, then handcuffed and held at gunpoint. She was reportedly begging for the men to let her live because she has kids back home.
Kim’s children with Kanye West, three-year-old North, and nine-month-old Saint, were luckily not with her that time as they were left at home in Los Angeles. The men then had her mouth wrapped in tape and placed her in the bathtub.
The men then proceeded to steal from the hotel room. As per Today, one of Kim’s rings, worth an estimated $4.49 million, as well as a jewelry box, worth an estimated $5.6 million were stolen. Cellphones and other things were also stolen from Kardashian.
NBC News New York reports that the five men escaped on bikes and are still at-large. After the men left with all her jewelry, Kardashian broke out of her bindings and called for help.
After speaking to the police and reporting the incident, the “Keeping up with the Kardashians” star boarded a private jet heading to New York. Her sister, Kendall Jenner, left Paris on a separate plane last Monday.
Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner, has released a statement on Sunday saying that her daughter is terribly shaken at the moment, but she knows how strong Kim is and knows that she will be fine.
Jenner condemns the act and hopes that it doesn’t happen to anyone as it is very traumatic. She also thanked the fans and their friends who have given Kim messages of support and concern.
Photos have surfaced showing Kim reuniting with her husband in New York. She was joined by her mom and her mom’s boyfriend Cory Gamble as well as a handful of security.
Reports say that the rapper feels helpless with what happened to his wife. Sources say that Kanye feared that Kim might have been raped by the men, but he’s thankful that she was not hurt in any way.
Kanye has rescheduled the remaining dates of his upcoming tour to help Kim cope up with the trauma that the recent incident brought in. Kim has reportedly also reunited with her children.
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo condemned the attack via Twitter saying that the incident is very rare and does not, in any way, call into question the work of the police and the security of the public space.
