Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Not Keen on North West Being Part of Reality Show

Last week, the E! network has confirmed that it has renewed the reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” for another four seasons beginning the upcoming Season 10 this March over a record $100 million deal.

That only means that there would be more of the usual drama that has become one of America’s top-rating viewing fares over the last nine years.

Kim Kardashian and rapper-husband Kanye West will still be part of the show as their relationship has become one of the main focal points of the reality show. But the couple apparently does not want to have their 20-month-old daughter North to be involved in the show at all, reports Yahoo! News.

While they do like to bring North West to public events including front row seats in Fashion Week shows, both Kim and Kanye share the same position that they want their daughter to have a normal childhood and away from the limelight.

This came as a bit of surprise considering that both Kim and Kanye are the type of celebrities who really like to bask on the spotlight, being controversial and being talked about by people every now and then, if not quite often enough.

Both Kim and Kanye, along with the entire Kardashian clan, have become household names on TV because of the success of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”

No-go from the start

With the contract extension of the show for another four years, it would seem logical that it would also involved North West in the plotline of the reality show sooner or later.

But the couple has said that it was a no-go right from the very beginning and that they will not entertain any type of discussion about it too. A source close to the couple said that Kim and Kanye want North to have some privacy growing up and away from the cameras.

Although Kim and Kanye have also discussed the possibility about North West getting featured on the reality show, they eventually decided against it. There were even reports that the couple actually turned down a huge financial offer to make North a regular of the show.

The insider said that there will be times in the show when North will be included in a group setting because it would be impossible to edit her out, but other than that, she will hardly be part of the show, not even on a semi-regular basis.

It was actually Kardashian momager Kris Jenner who orchestrated the record deal that the family got from the E! network with her position of ‘take it or we pack our bags.’

Given how “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” is consistently doing well in the TV ratings, the E! network was left with no recourse but to re-sign them to the record four-year deal. The network just wanted to add a bonus to it by wanting to include North in the upcoming seasons but both Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were not up to it.
