Kendall Jenner has said goodbye to Instagram and it has shocked her fans. The 21-year-old model deleted her account over the weekend, leaving over 68 million followers without an explanation of her social media detox.
Fans were curious when they found out the Kendall’s Instagram page cannot be viewed. Some initially thought it was an error, but it was soon confirmed that the model deleted her Instagram.
Jenner has not yet officially talked about why she left the photo-sharing app, but fans are deducing that it has to do with her recent safety scare.
USA Today reports that last month, a jury convicted a 26-year-old Shavaughn McKenzie of trespassing at Jenner’s Hollywood Hills home. McKenzie was recently acquitted of a stalking charge.
Jenner testified at the trial describing her fear at finding McKenzie lurking in her driveway and banging on her car window begging for them to talk back in August.
The Estee Lauder campaign model says that she has been seeing McKenzie stalking her even when she was still living in her L.A. condo.
However, it looks like the “Keeping up with the Kardashian” star is just taking a break from social media. This follows her older sister, Kim Kardashian’s hiatus after her Paris robbery incident last month.
E! News noted that Kendall’s Twitter, Snapchat, and Facebook accounts have not been deactivated and are very well up and running. Her personal app is still working and has had few updates over the weekend.
Fans are hoping that the reality star will address her account deletion through her other social media accounts. Kendall’s mom and manager, Kris Jenner, has also not said anything about her daughter quitting the popular app.
Jenner once held the record for the most-liked Instagram photo for her hair art. This was until Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s posts won over.
In the past few weeks, fans have noticed that Kendall had indeed stayed low on Instagram. Her recent photos before deleting her account consisted of outings with fellow models Bella Hadid and Karlie Kloss.
As per the Daily Mail, the brunette beauty’s Instagram hiatus also has to do with the flak she received for her Vogue EspaƱa cover.
Kendall modeled a ballerina fashion and made moves akin to nimble-toed dancers. A number of professional ballerinas have expressed their disappointment with the photo saying that the model does not know how to stay in her lane.
In response, she shot back via a lengthy blog last month making it clear that she’s a professional who does what’s asked of her. She clarified that she never did ballet, she just shows up to do her job as a model.
She added that criticism is never going to slow her down from working hard and being herself, saying that she would also never purposely try to offend anyone or any profession. She says that she respects women who do their jobs really well.
Kendall’s action is also ironic from the latest episode of their hit reality show. In the recent episode, Kendall has been very vocal about using their social media platform to fight gun violence.
The episode also featured the Kardashian-Jenner clan having lunch with the members of Every Town, a group composed of family members of gun violence victims which aim to stop gun violence in America.
In the past two episodes of the hit reality series, the 21-year-old model has been very expressive how she was looking for an organization that she can support to stop the violence in the country. However, she also expressed her hesitations how that might come off with her followers.
