Most of the kids Keion Carpenter worked with, had a difficult life. With his Carpenter House, he tried to make a difference in their lives. Instead of playing on the field, he preferred to pass on his experience to the younger generation of athletes.
The community in Baltimore that Carpenter worked with came together on the night of his death and showed their love and respect for him. His friends, classmates all gathered at Keion Carpenter’s alma mater, Woodlawn High School to hold a memorial service for him.
Even though Keion Carpenter was a celebrated football player, no one spoke about his tackles and interceptions on the field. He was remembered more for his efforts off the field. At his vigil, Carpenter was remembered for the man he was off the field. He was a much-loved friend, mentor, husband, and father.
A public viewing has been organized for Carpenter’s fans at the Wylie Funeral Baptist Church at 12 pm to 4 pm. The funeral will take place on Monday, and the Shutdown Academy would host another vigil.
Keion Carpenter’s death is a huge loss to his fans and students. They had a lot to learn from him, and everyone is shocked at the sudden news of his death. He was perfectly fit, and no one can understand what made him fall while playing with his son and injure himself.
