The PlayStation platform has had its share of Arcade racing games like ModNation and Motorstorm. However, the Gran Turismo series will always remain the most hyper-realistic racing game for the PlayStation platform. With the last game, Gran Turismo 6, developer Polyphony Digital extracted as much as they could from the PS3 in order to run the game as efficiently as possible.
Gran Turismo 6 was the final glorious act by Sony for the older generation consoles. It still had a lot of disappointments! The micro-transactions feature included in the game seemed like it was forced upon. Gran Turismo 7, which was confirmed earlier this year, is the upcoming game from the perfectionist developers at Polyphony Digital.
The fans of this series had to wait for a long time during the window between Gran Turismo 5 and the launch of Gran Turismo 6. Thankfully for the fans, this time Kazunori Yamauchi, head of the Polyphony Digital team, has now confirmed the release of this upcoming title for the PS4 in 2015 or 2016.
In an interview with GamesTM, he talked about the differences between the hardware of the older generation PS3 consoles and the next-gen PS4 platform. He further added that this difference will surely play a huge role for Gran Turismo 7. He declared that running the older games was quite difficult for PS3 platform. Presently, with the next-gen consoles, things will run in a more natural manner. PS4 comes with a huge amount of high-quality rendered data that will create a massive impact for this upcoming title.
Polyphony Digital has astonished gamers in the past with their level of high-definition detail and stunning visuals introduced in the earlier games of this series. Kazunori Yamauchi declared that this trend will keep continuing for the newer Gran Turismo games. Kazunori, along with his entire staff, currently has a clear vision of the upcoming title.
They wish to do everything with this game that was not possible for the earlier title designed for the older-generation PS3. He further added that this title will be in step with the time during which it is released.
The developers have been quite vague with the release date for this game. Gamers surely hope they don’t have to wait too long for one of the best gaming franchises for the PlayStation platform. It will be a long wait for all of the present DriveClub fans as they keep facing different online issues with the other racing franchises from PlayStation.
Developer Evolution Studio set up a new feature that prevented players from getting into the online multiplayer mode until another player has left. For now, fans can only hope that the upcoming title does not feature any such nuisance.
