Katy Perry promises that the crowd at the University of Phoenix stadium in Arizona and also the millions of fans watching on their TV sets worldwide will be quipping ‘Roar’ come Super Bowl 2015 on February 1 with her scheduled halftime performance.
In a press conference on January 29, the “Fireworks” singer hinted that her halftime performance come Super Bowl Sunday would be wild and shall actually come with a lion and sharks.
Katy said that it is going to be wild this coming Sunday, proud to have been given the opportunity to perform at NFL’s biggest stage of them all at a relatively young age of 30.
She recalled seeing the past performances of Beyonce and Madonna in previous Super Bowls and she is not, in any way, promising to surpass those classic acts. Katy said she will just put some lightheartedness to the performance.
Other halftime performers
In addition to Katy Perry, rock singer Lenny Kravits shall also be on the Super Bowl halftime stage along with an old-school female singer whom the singer did not disclose to the media during the press conference.
But later that evening, a source privy to the preparations for the Super Bowl 2015 halftime show revealed that the surprise female guest is Grammy winner Missy Elliott. Elliot was featured on a remix of Katy Perry’s song titled “Last Friday Night (TGIF),” reports Yahoo! News from an AP report.
Katy also told the media that the fans are bound to hear her sing her two monster hits “Roar” and “Fireworks.” She also said that her performance during the Super Bowl 2015 halftime would be a visual spectacle that has been the hallmark of Madonna’s past performances. It shall also celebrate female empowerment, adds Katy.

The pop singer also revealed more details of her upcoming Super Bowl 2015 halftime performance, citing in particular the unfurling of a giant screen in the middle of the field to emphasize visual effects. Katy also said that she will be changing outfits a couple of times during her performance.
She said that much of the songs she is going to do will be done live because the logistics of the performance is difficult. She also said that she has been closely involved in the planning of her event extravaganza for Super Bowl 2015.
Katy said that every minute detail of the performance and the logistics have been looked into and that there is not a diamond on the shoe that has not gone past her eyes.
She also says that the Super Bowl 2015 halftime performance is a spiritual experience for her and she is hoping that at the end of the day, the more than 100 million people all over the world would be smiling in unison after witnessing her performance.
