Pop singer Katy Perry is reportedly feeling the intense pressure of performing before a huge crowd as well as a massive global audience on TV for her gig in the halftime of Super Bowl 2015 scheduled on February 1.
In order to lessen the jitters that she has been feeling for the major gig that she is about to do less than a month away and also to prepare herself mentally, Katy has been calling the event the Puppy Bowl, reports Access Hollywood.
Asked on her strategy for her halftime performance, the “Roar” singer said that she would just be who she is as a performer and that one of her key priorities is to ensure that there would be no wardrobe malfunction, something that happened to Janet Jackson at the Super Bowl 2004 that became one of the talks for the ages.
Tough act to follow
Katy also admits that the performance of Beyonce, the last female performer to perform in the event, during the halftime of Super Bowl 2013, is really superb and high up there in the altar, which even she would find it difficult to match.
She said that nobody’s going to live up to Beyonce so it’s not worth comparing her to the “Single Ladies” singer.
Katy however said that she will perform according to her strength anchored on a combination of humor, sass, color and incredible joy. And that she is hopeful that everybody will be singing along with her in her choice collections because the songs that she is planning to sing at the event will be quite familiar to almost everybody who know and understand pop music.
Positive reviews after
Katy said that after her gig in the Super Bowl 2015 halftime, she wants to be remembered for her great performance more than anything else.
She says that she wants her performance to be part of the next day’s news not because of her, not because of a wardrobe malfunction, whether intentional or not, but more on the kind and level of music that she delivered and how it was appreciated by the crowd.
Although Katy Perry is one of the highlights of the Super Bowl 2015, there is still no denying that fans came to see and appreciate the winner-take-all game in NFL’s biggest stage. The halftime performance is just a bonus meant to ease the tension of fans who normally gets engrossed and involved in the game.
Katy, who is still crazy about NFL studs, says that she is too focused at the moment on her halftime performance to even think about the dashing and gorgeous NFL players who will be taking the field inside the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona on Super Bowl Sunday.
In October 2014, Katy made it to the NFL headlines when she professed her love to University of Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight while serving as the guest picker on ESPN College Games Day. Knight made no attempt to reciprocate Katy’s crush on him. Latest reports are now rife that the singer and his ex-boyfriend singer John Mayer are back together again.
