Unlike before when she was reportedly not very open to discussing the state of her relationship with boyfriend Justin Verlander, supermodel Kate Upton is now very proud to say in public and to the world that they are already engaged.
On May, 7, she was in Louisville to attend the Kentucky Derby and as she walked into the event, she proudly showed to photographers her sparkling diamond engagement ring from her fiancé, Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, reports Us Weekly.
She even posed for photographers as she came to the derby wearing a wide-brimmed ivory hat and an emerald Victoria Beckham dress that showed her curves.
The 23-year-old supermodel-turned-actress also allowed photographers to see up close her 6-carat eye-popping diamond sparkler designed by Anita Ko.
A video of the bling was also taken by her hairstylist Bryce Scarlett and posted on her Instagram account which Kate Upton also re-grammed shortly.
According to Mark Keeney, Ritani jeweler, the engagement ring is worth about $1.5 million and that it is worth the long wait that the 33-year-old Justin Verlander made to finally have Kate Upton say yes to his marriage proposal for the umpteenth time.
The event’s first lady
During the event, Kate Upton was named as the First Lady of the Longines Kentucky Oaks Survivors Parade, reports Just Jared.
Other than Kate Upton, other celebrities who were present during the event were actor Josh Duhamel, musicians Jordan Smith and Ingrid Michaelson, actor Adrian Grenier, and TV personalities Carson Kressley and Gayle King.
Kate Upton is a horse racing fanatic. Apart from being a long-time equestrian, she is actually the Breeder’s Cup ambassador and was chosen for her love of the sport.
Late last year, she went to the Keeneland race course in Lexington, Kentucky to witness the history where American Pharaoh beat Effinex at the Breeder’s Cup Classic by six and a half lengths.
Upton says that she was lucky enough to present the trophy to the first Grand Slam titlist in horseracing history and she really felt it like a great honor.
American Pharaoh previously won the Triple Crown, that includes the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont Stakes races, before nailing his latest and final major win last year.
The three-year-old bay colt has since retired from racing and set out on what is expected to be a lucrative career as a stud.
Eating while working out
Talk about how confident she is in burning all the fats that she takes in into her body, supermodel Kate Upton was a total badass in the gym when she posted on her Instagram and Twitter accounts late last month that she was actually eating doughnuts while working out.
That is obviously an oxymoron that only Kate Upton can deliver with flair. It is also one of the reasons why her fans and her boyfriend, Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, love her so much.
She also shared a video clip on her Instagram where she was doing a strength conditioning via a delicious doughnut.
The 26-year-old supermodel was munching on the doughnut while doing sled-rope pulls with her other hand.
Kate Upton is also one of the reasons why a lot of people likes going to the gym other than working out and keeping in tip-top shape.
Although behind her jest, Upton is a serious gym buff and she really likes to work out and burn the excess fats in her body and always be in shape for all her modeling engagements.
