Supermodel-turned-actress Kate Upton and her boyfriend Justin Verlander, pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, started the New Year on a very high note as they kissed on the beach amid fireworks to welcome 2016.
It also means that amid all those unfounded rumors that they have parted ways a few months ago, their relationship appears to be getting stronger and stronger.
Justin actually posted a picture on his Instagram account showing him and Kate sharing a sweet kiss while on the beach. Both of them were wearing white and the photo was taken with a backdrop of a large firework display that seems to be emanating from the sea.
The post on the photo-sharing app drew nearly 9,000 likes from the followers of the 32-year-old Detroit Tigers pitcher.
Apart from the obvious sparks from the fireworks, a different kind of sparks was also flying between Kate and Justin on the beach, notes Business 2 Community.
Fox Sports reported it to say that every picture tells a story as what Rod Steward said in one of his hit albums. However, some photos speak more than others.

A multi-awarded couple
As a professional baseball player, Justin Verlander was named the American League Rookie of the Year back in 2006.
As for Kate Upon, Sports Illustrated just revealed the 15 times that the supermodel made them totally lose it in 2015.
The 23-year-old supermodel was named Rookie of the Year following her first appearance in 2011 and was the cover model for the 2012 and 2013 issues.
She was also the subject of the 100th anniversary Vanity Fair cover. Kate has also appeared in several commercially-successful films including “Tower Heist” in 2011 and “The Other Woman” in 2014. She is set to star in the upcoming film “The Layover” with Alexandra Daddario due to hit theaters this year.
Another film in the works
Meanwhile, Kate Upton will soon be joining the cast of the movie titled “The Disaster Artist” starring James Franco, who shall also be directing the film.
The movie is about the making of the romantic drama “The Room,” which is regarded as the worst film of all time.
James Franco will produce, direct, and star in the film and he shall take on the role of Tommy Wiseau, the director of the 2003 film, earning for him the reputation as the Disaster Artist, which is the title of the movie.
Wiseau wore multiple hats behind the scenes of “The Room.” In addition to directing the film, he also wrote, produced, and starred in what is described as the ‘Citizen Kane’ of bad movies.
It is not clear however what the role of Kate Upton is in the movie but it would surely be interesting following her filming stint in the upcoming movie “The Layover.”
“The Disaster Artist” is based on the 2013 non-fiction book titled “The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room,” which was written by journalist Tom Bissell and Greg Sestero, one of the lead actors in the room.
In the book, Sestero recounted his life as a penniless actor and described working with Wiseau, who, bizarrely, is said to have had no experience in filmmaking prior to making “The Room.”
Dave Franco, James’ brother, will play the role of Sestero, who also played Mark in “The Room.” In addition to Kate Upton, other stars in “The Disaster Artist” include Seth Rogen, Josh Hutcherson, and Zac Efron. There will also be Jacki Weaver, Ari Graynor, Hannibal Buress, and Andrew Santino.
Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, the writers behind the 2014 film “The Fault in Our Stars,” are attached to write the script for “The Disaster Artist.”
