Supermodel Kate Upton and her boyfriend Justin Verlander, the pitcher of the Detroit Tigers baseball team in Major League Baseball (MLB), have been engaged early this year.
The public only got to know it when Kate Upton showcased her diamond engagement ring on the red carpet of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala in New York City last May.
In a recent interview at the Vince Camuto Holiday Dance Party at the A List in Beverly Hills, Kate Upton said that she found her months of engagement with Justin to be lots of fun for her. She explained that in a lot of ways, her being engaged is also the same as when she and Justin were still dating as a couple.
However, there is one major difference and she pointed it out so clearly when she said that now they are planning their life together, reports Us Weekly.
While the all-time favorite Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition cover girl did not exactly mention that they are looking to tie the knot very soon, some discerning critics are one in saying that the couple is indeed looking to exchange ‘I do’ in the near future and that wedding bells may start ringing soon enough.
Coordinating perfectly with a friend
Incidentally, during the same party in Beverly Hills, Kate Upton and Emily Ratajkowski showed how perfection is with their coordinating attires which looked like the dress of one is a part of the other and vice versa.
The two made a case for twinning with all-black outfits that offered two takes on what to wear on an ideal evening out, reports Vogue.
Ratajkowski wore a high-waisted LPA jumpsuit with a plunging neckline and d’Orsay pumps from Camuto’s line worn with tousled waves.
Upton’s combination of a black tuxedo jacket and sequin-covered fringed Mathieu Mirano skirt was buttoned-up, but it didn’t hide her famous physique.
Though both accessorized with sleek Vince Camuto clutches and kept their makeup and jewelry minimal, their ensembles were different enough to remain interesting.
Upton and Ratajkowski could easily swap different parts of their outfits, creating whole new looks, which is exactly the kind of thing girlfriends do.
Standing up for her man
Justin Verlander may be very proud to have supermodel Kate Upton as his fiancé and likely future wife.
Not only is Kate Upton pretty and gorgeous, she also sticks to her man and defends him at all cost and Verlander is really lucky to have someone as famous and popular who has his back.
Last month, Kate Upton expressed her disgust on Twitter and ranted against MLB, particularly on what she described as a flawed system in handing out the prestigious Cy Young Award.
Upton is obviously pinning for her fiancé to cop the award but it went to Verlander’s teammate Rick Porcello.
Kate Upton was complaining that her fiancé was left off a couple of Cy Young ballots that kept him from winning the AL award.
Almost a week later, the 24-year-old supermodel clarified that she was not actually ripping Porcello but was taking a swipe at the flawed system in Cy Young Award voting.
Based on their statistics, Porcello edged out Verlander so the former’s receipt of the 2016 Cy Young Award was justified.
In Verlander’s final two starts, he pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts against the Cleveland Indians, then pitched seven innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts against the Atlanta Braves, which lowered his season ERA to 3.04.
For his part, Porcello gave up six runs in 12 1/3 innings in his final two starts, causing his ERA to rise up to 3.15.
