In her image post on Instagram, four team members of the Miami Dolphins were shown kneeling during the singing of the national anthem on September 11, and Upton captioned by it saying that President Obama’s election to the White House was evidence of the opportunities afforded to all Americans, regardless of their race.
She explained that in her opinion, the national anthem is a symbolic song about the US. It represents honoring the many brave men and women who sacrifice and have sacrificed their lives each and every single day to protect the American freedom.
The supermodel said that people could protest all they want and use social media all they want but during the nearly two minutes when the national anthem is playing, everyone should put their hands on their heart and be proud of American for they are truly blessed.
