The beauteous Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is now 33 years old but according to a new visual computing software developed by the head of Bradford University’s Centre for Visual Computing, she will still look strikingly beautiful 14 years from now.
The new technology has been developed by Professor Hassan Ugail, which designed the software to identify potential terrorists in the crowd by projecting their future looks, details Yahoo! News UK and Ireland.
Professor Ugail made a tweak on the technology so that it can already predict the future appearances of people by blending the image of the person’s current face with those of his or her parents.
According to Professor Ugail, the software has an 80% success rate and there is a high possibility that the software can soon be made available for the general public in the form of a mobile device app.
The software will be presented by Ugail to the British Science Association within this week, where he will demonstrate how it works.
Other than projecting the look of Kate Middleton at age 47, Professor Ugail also used the software to project the appearances of Prince George at the ages of 7, 20, and 60 years.
He has likewise projected the appearance of Princess Charlotte when she reaches 18 months old and also when she turns seven years old, 20, and 40.
Based on the results showed by the software, Prince George would have an appearance that captures more the features of his father, Prince William, when he becomes an adult. It is also expected that the third-in-line to the throne will retain his youthful looks even when his hair turns to grey by the time he’s 60.
Other celebrity youngsters
In addition to applying the software on Prince George and Princess Charlotte, Professor Ugail also used it to project the future appearances of two other celebrity youngsters in the UK including David Beckham’s daughter Harper, and Simon Cowell’s son Eric. The software projected images of the two youngsters at ages 20, 40, and 60.
The professor explained that he used Kate and William to make a demo of the software because their images and that of their children are so widely available.
It is expected that the software or app would become a hit among parents especially those with infants or toddlers for them to know what their offspring will look like a few years down the road.
However, the proof of the accuracy of the software will only be validated when the youngsters reach their actual age vis-à-vis the time projection made by the technology.
But Ugail claimed that he already did a reverse process of the software by de-aging celebrities and comparing the results produced by the software to the pictures of the famous personalities during their childhood, and the results were quite striking.
