Kate Middleton has been in the media a lot lately, and while most people usually have lots of positive things to say about her style and appearance, it looks like some of those close to her don’t share that opinion. More specifically, Queen Elizabeth might apparently have had a problem with the way the Duchess of Cambridge dresses and presents herself at some point, as it was recently revealed that she might be dictating how Kate Middleton dresses herself to a large extent.
It’s not the first time we’ve heard accusations that Kate Middleton is easy to manipulate by the stronger-willed around her, but let’s not forget that she has a very prominent position in society and it’s very likely that there’s a lot more going on in her head than she lets on. If it is indeed true that she is under the Queen’s supervision for her own clothing and style, that would be quite strange.
One of the things that apparently stood out to the queen in a bad way were the kinds of shoes that Kate Middleton likes to wear occasionally, and it’s claimed that she saw it as a “clumsy” way to dress, something she didn’t want to see at all. The Queen is not a fan of wedged shoes, the source says, and this is apparently a fact that pretty much all women in the family know.
Does this mean that Kate Middleton was wearing such shoes on purpose, knowing how the Queen sees them? It’s worth noting that we’ve never seen any pictures showing her wearing such shoes around the Queen, but of course that could be simply a coincidence.
Some rumors are going even further, claiming that the Queen has been referring to Kate Middleton as “Duchess of Do-Little” and even “Lazy Katie”, because apparently she has been making plenty of time for attending Wimbledon and meeting up with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, but couldn’t do the same when it came to meeting her country’s veterans. Still, that’s just a rumor and we have no idea if tensions in the family really are that high.
It’s always a good idea to take reports like these with a grain of salt, especially when they’re about a high-ranking figure like Kate Middleton. With a person as complicated as her, it’s guaranteed that she would be surrounded by such rumors on a regular basis.
But still, it does seem a bit noticeable that there might be something going on between the Duchess and the Queen. Of course, even if that’s the case, they’re likely never going to reveal it publicly, as it could have quite the serious negative impact on the image of the family.
And of course, in the case of the Royal Family, their public image is quite important – if not critical. If something like this were to come up, we would most likely see huge scandals in the near future, and this would do a lot to harm the image of pretty much everyone around Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth, not just the two of them.
In the end though, if the Queen says that Kate Middleton should dress in a certain way, we see no option but for the Duchess to follow through. It’s been shown time and time again that Queen Elizabeth is not someone to be toyed with, and she’s a very strong individual with the well-deserved respect of a large number of people.
