Recently, a member of Kate Middleton’s family made a public statement that she was “starting to feel really pregnant”. She has apparently been feeling sick quite often around that period, going as far as having to stay at home several times as she was suffering from bad cases of morning sickness. And, after the Duchess made a recovery from that particularly bad period, she seemed to be handling her pregnancy just fine. And now, after a rumor made its way reportedly from someone close to Kate Middleton, it’s known what the gender of the upcoming baby will be – she’s apparently expecting a baby girl, as evidenced by the pink baby shower that she recently threw.
This remains just a rumor at this point, and its origin seems to be Star Magazine – and while the Palace hasn’t made an official statement on the matter yet, the magazine’s source seems to have seen the event in quite the detail. According to reports, the entire location was decorated in pink, especially the food, which included all sorts of pink pastries. Pink cocktails were reportedly served as well.
However, many have been pointing out the obvious – that this rumor should be taken with a huge grain of salt. On one hand, it’s entirely possible that Kate Middleton would want to throw a slightly more extravagant baby shower for her new baby. On the other, as some have commented, imagining the Royal Family of all families throwing a pink baby shower is a bit difficult, and in some ways downright ridiculous.
At this point in Kate Middleton’s pregnancy, it won’t be that long before the public finds out the gender of the baby anyway. Even if the rumors about the baby shower turn out to be false, the actual gender will make its way to the public eyes sooner or later.
It’s expected that the family would want to delay the announcement of the news for various reasons, however, and some have been speculating that the gender of the baby may not even be known for some time after its birth. Of course, with so many people directly involved in the future baby’s life, it would be quite hard to hide such a detail about it, but then again, this is the Royal Family.
Kate Middleton herself has been relatively quiet on the issue, and hasn’t been saying too much about her new baby. Which is understandable, because as a mother, she would likely prefer to focus her energy on preparing herself for the upbringing of her new child, whether it’s a boy or a girl – if she knows herself at this point already.
