Work on Thor: Ragnarok is progressing at a fast pace. Movie Web reported that actor Karl Urban has already wrapped his work for the upcoming movie. The third installment of Thor will see Urban as the villain. Urban has completed shooting for his role as Skurge.
Karl Urban confirmed the news himself. He took to Twitter to inform his fans that he has completed his schedule for Thor: Ragnarok and he had a good time filming the movie. Karl Urban shared a photo of director Taika Waititi from the sets and praised the cast and crew.
Apart from Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo has also wrapped up his schedule for Thor: Ragnarok.
There isn’t any official announcement on the plot for the third installment of Thor. The film will be the director, Taika Waititi’s first big budget film and he isn’t leaving any stones unturned to make sure that he delivers a box-office success.
Thor: Ragnarok will see Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston return in the role of Thor and Loki respectively. Apart from big names like Karl Urban and Mark Ruffalo, the new film will also see Oscar winning actress Cate Blanchett joining the cast.
Cate Blanchett is set to appear in the role of chief villain, Hela. Jeff Goldblum will play the role of Grandmaster while Creed star Tessa Thompson will be Valkyrie. Valkyrie will battle alongside Thor and will also be his love interest in Thor: Ragnarok.
There isn’t confirmation on Valkyrie’s role as Thor’s love interest, but since Natalie Portman won’t return as Jane Foster, fans feel that Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie will fill up the gap.
Reports suggest that Thor: Ragnarok will adapt the storyline from Planet Hulk comics. The fans of the Marvel have been waiting for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to start focusing on these stories and they are ecstatic. Thor: Ragnarok will be a buddy cop road movie with Thor and Hulk joining forces to take down the bad guys.
Dark Horizons reported that Benedict Cumberbatch might make an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok. The actor is set to play the role of Doctor Strange, and Marvel is known to have crossovers. Benedict Cumberbatch let out that he will be a part of the cast working with Thor: Ragnarok. He let out the information while talking to Tom Hiddleston during an interview.
The fans were quick to grasp on this information and realized that Marvel had Spider-Man introduced in Captain America: Civil War. Similarly, Doctor Strange will be introduced in Thor: Ragnarok.
Tom Hiddleston spoke about his decision to come back for Thor: Ragnarok. He said that it’s always great to come back for the role of Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He further stated that he enjoys working with his co-star Chris Hemsworth.
The two might play the role of brothers who have turned foes, but they are good friends in real life. Hiddleston said that he is excited to work with Chris Hemsworth once again. The two had first met at Kenneth Branagh’s house in England. The two met way back in 2009 when they were both starting out on their acting career.
