Kanye West Says He Does Not Mean to Disrespect Beck; But Thinks Grammys is a Broken Clock!

Just days after his stage intrusion on Beck who was making his acceptance speech for the Album of the Year award during the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, Kanye West has came out to sort of indirectly apologize to Beck for his post-event ranting.

But the rapper-husband of Kim Kardashian won’t retract his statement and opinion of the Grammys which he thinks is a big joke. He also considers the music industry’s biggest award-giving body as a broken clock because it is only right on two occasions in a day.

When he finally got down to his senses, Kanye said that he has nothing but respect for Beck. He said that he was just upset that Beck didn’t mention other nominees as worthy for the Album of the Year award during his acceptance speech.

Kanye West was obviously rooting for Beyonce to win the Album of the Year award that is why he reprised his stage invasion of Beck during the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.

It can be recalled that the rapper also did the same back in 2009 when he stopped short Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech for the Best Female Video award during the MTV Video Music Awards. Kanye has since earned the ire of a lot of music fans as well as fellow musicians too.

His encore ‘stage act’ on February 8 at the Grammys also solicited unfavorable comments from fellow musicians who mostly think that what he did was bratty and uncalled for.

Nothing but good words

When Beck was asked for his reaction on what Kanye West did or what the rapper was about to do during his acceptance speech for the Album of the Year honors, the musician said he thinks the rapper has every right and deserves to be on stage and that he also thought that Beyonce should have won the award.

Kanye said that Beck is one of the nicest guys and one of the most respected musicians in the business. He said he did not mean to disrespect a fellow musician or Beck personally in any way. He admitted that it was a miswording on his part.

The rapper tried to explain himself to Ryan Seacrest during the radio show of the American Idol host called “On Air” on February 11.

He said that his stair-climbing and stage-intrusion antics were kind of like a joke like the Grammys itself.

When asked by Seacrest about his post-event tirade of Beck and the Grammys, Kanye said that many in the music industry look up to the awarding rites as the Super Bowl of the business.

He explained that someone is going to get mad if Marshawn Lynch of the Seattle Seahawks did not get the ball during the game, alluding of course to Lynch as Beyonce.
