Despite the Holiday season, Justin Bieber has hit back at 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS). This comes after the Australian pop rock band’s guitarist Michael Clifford claimed that Bieber hates them.
Clifford adds that he and his bandmates crashed Justin’s American Music Awards after party at the Nice Guy restaurant in Los Angeles in November where the event was reportedly a complete mess and that Bieber played songs from his own album on loop for two to three hours.
The 5SOS guitarist made the comment during the interview for their latest Rolling Stone cover.
In the cover, the boys of 5SOS stripped naked and were painted with graffiti messages that matched the magazine cover’s background.
Upon learning of Clifford’s interview, a furious Justin told the band, Michael in particular, to stop using his name so they could make headlines.
In a series of now-deleted tweets, the 21-year-old singer addressed Clifford directly and said that he doesn’t hate him, in fact, he doesn’t even know him.
He also questioned if 5SOS did come to his AMA after party. The “What Do You Mean” hitmaker also rejected Clifford’s claims that the songs from his album were on loop during the party.
With regards to the band’s latest magazine cover, the “Sorry” singer tweeted that he wishes the band the best and reminded them to not use his name for headlines since they are already on the cover.
Bieber has since deleted his tweets, but Clifford was quick in his attempt to pacify Justin and the situation by replying that magazine got all his words wrong.
The 20-year-old guitarist added that he has been a fan of the Canadian pop singer since the beginning and that he has no idea why something like that was penned in the article.
Aside from the music feud that has ensued from 5SOS’ Rolling Stone cover, the Australian pop rock band also talked about having to constantly fight about the misconception that they’re not a real band.
The band’s drummer, Ashton Irwin, reveals that 75% of their lives is proving that they are actually a real band.
Irwin adds that they’re getting better at it now as they don’t want their music just for the girls to appreciate, they want it to be for everyone and it makes them happy to know that they already have some male fans too.
The band is currently gearing up for their “Sounds Live Feels Live” Tour to be held this year with dates in Asia, the UK, Ireland, and North America. It will the band’s first full feature world tour.
Meanwhile, after successfully rebranding himself last year and the release of his album “Purpose,” Bieber is spending his well-deserved Holiday with old flame, Hailey Baldwin.
According to Hollywood Life, the two were spotted vacationing in the tropics for the Holidays and were definitely looking cozy.
Baldwin posted a photo of her and Justin while the latter even posted a video on Instagram and it looks as if they are rekindling some romance.
The “I’ll Show You” singer also shared some snaps on Snapchat showing the singer being very touchy with Hailey.
The romance between Justin and Hailey was short-lived, but they remained friends after their split. Baldwin has long stated that Bieber always has her back.
Last weekend, the Daily Mail reported that the two were also spotted on the beach enjoying each other’s company.
Hailey and Justin were out for some post-Christmas celebration along with a group of friends to which the singer shared a photo of their day out on his Instagram.
