Charlie Puth may be one of the upcoming musicians of today but critics felt that he went overboard when he dissed in his concert on March 11 Grammy-winner Justin Bieber by giving him the ‘F’ word.
Apparently, it has something to do with what Selena Gomez had told Charlie Puth when they recorded the song “We Don’t Talk Anymore” recently.
So while Charlie was performing in his concert and sang “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” all the things that Selena told him about Justin came back to him at that point and prompted him to say the ‘F’ word against the Biebs.
He may have been the bad guy in his failed relationship with Selena but it was unfair for Justin to say the least. Besides, Charlie has no right to judge Justin over an issue where the side of the latter had not been heard yet.
A source said that “We Don’t Talk Anymore” is a song that Charlie wrote but it was not about Selena and Justin’s relationship. However, after he talked to her about appearing in the song and the stories Selena told him about Justin while they were recording it, it dawned upon Charlie that the song fit perfectly, details the Hollywood Life.
Since then, Charlie has been saying that the song is basically about the ill-fated relationship of Justin and Selena. In fact, the dress line in the duet is a reference to the “Good For You” song of Selena.
It seems that all the things that Selena told Charlie about Justin while they were collaborating on the song stuck with Charlie and the upstart musician decided to side with Selena for her part of the story. The source said that Charlie felt for Selena and he does not like all the games that Justin supposedly played on “The Heart Want What it Wants” singer while they were still together.
Just a joke?
The diss by Charlie Puth on Justin Bieber on the former’s concert was actually caught by a fan on video which was later posted on social media.
He made the curse while singing “We Don’t Talk Anymore” then continued on into the chorus of the single. He may have thought that nobody caught that blip on his performance but he later found out that somebody did.
As if to contain the situation, Puth, later on, apologized for the diss in his tweets by saying that it was merely a joke. But realizing later that it could blow the issue out of proportion, he also deleted his tweets of apology, notes People.
Unfortunately for Charlie, some of his followers have already captured some of his tweets and were shared on the social media site. In one of the tweets, Puth was quoted as saying that he feels like he needs to clear something up. He said that what he said at the concert about Justin was only meant to be a joke.
He explained that because he said it mid-song, it did not sound like one. He said that he is a massive Justin Bieber fan and nothing but great things to say about the Biebs and his music.
Relationship rumors
Because of their recent collaboration, Selena and Charlie Puth have sparked dating rumors but both Selena and Charlie clarified that they are not into each other.
Charlie said that he is single and that the collaboration with Selena was purely professional. Selena is also seeing Niall Horan of One Direction so entering into a relationship with Puth in a drop of a hat would put her in a bad light.
When Justin Bieber was asked to comment on Puth’s diss during his recent show, his representative did not bother issuing a comment or statement.
