As early as November last year, game developer Avalanche Studios has already announced that the third installment to its open-world action-adventure video game “Just Cause” will finally hit gaming consoles and the PC during the Holidays of 2015.
But it was only in January that it started releasing teaser screenshots of “Just Cause 3,” which surely had fans and gamers excited about seeing again the game’s protagonist Rico Rodriguez.
Publisher and distributor Square Enix apparently became dissatisfied with just showing to fans and gamers screen images of the game that it finally decided to release on February 13 the latest trailer of “Just Cause 3,” reports Game Dynamo.
Rolling with the title “Firestarter,” the new “Just Cause 3” trailer gives fans and gamers a glimpse of Rico Rodriguez as the most explosive action hero in gaming. The trailer also hinted Rico’s uncanny penchant for perpetual explosion and how he lives for the sake of explosion and thrill, defying even his own logic.
The 110-second trailer concludes with the line saying ‘See the world on fire starting the Holidays 2015’ which is consistent with Square Enix’s earlier pronouncement that the explosive game will break loose and blows up everything in sight when it debuts on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC.
Too long in the making
The first video game of the series by Avalanche Studios “Just Cause” was released in 2006. Four years later, “Just Cause 2” followed. So “Just Cause 3” will be coming out five years after the first sequel to the successful video game.
Many gamers believe it was too long in the making but the excitement and anticipation it generated may be a good indication that “Just Cause 3” is going to be very successful, just like its predecessors.
When the game was announced last year in Game Informer magazine, “Just Cause 3” will reportedly introduce a new Mediterranean archipelago to explore a vastly improved parachute and grapple mechanics to exploit, and a new wingsuit to glide around in.
Good reviews
Game Informer has had a substantial firsthand preview of the game that is why it managed to put in a good feature write up on “Just Cause 3,” mostly positive reviews.
The magazine said that “Just Cause” never looked so good and played so smoothly.
Prior to the November announcement, there were also some leaked screen shots of “Just Cause 3” which showed that the video game will also have microtransaction-based features in the form of ‘Black Market’ that will let players drop items into the game world at will but with a price naturally.
Before the announcement of the release of “Just Cause 3,” there were speculations that it would be unveiled late in 2016 or early 2017. The announcement of a Holiday 2015 release finally quashed those rumors.
