Despite the familiar plotline, the upcoming “Jurassic World” movie is not a reboot of the first “Jurassic Park” film shown 22 years ago. It is actually a continuation and is the fourth in a series but is likely the first of another trilogy.
The main difference between the first three films and “Jurassic World” is that in the upcoming movie, the dream of John Hammond has finally been achieved. Hammond was played in the first movie by the late Richard Attenborough, details Comingsoon.net
While a fully-functioning dinosaur theme park was seen in the first “Jurassic Park” movie, in “Jurassic World,” it became bigger than ever but still situated in Isla Nublar.
And instead of being merely owned by Hammond or his heirs, “Jurassic World” is now owned and operated by Masrani Global Corporation, making it entirely a business enterprise.
All-new characters
While there have been hints previously that there might be some cameos from actors who were once part of the first three “Jurassic Park” movies, “Jurassic World” will actually feature all-new characters when it debuts to worldwide theaters on June 12.
The critically-acclaimed Steven Spielberg, who directed the first two “Jurassic Park” movies in the 90s, will return to the fourth film in the franchise not as a director but as executive producer. Colin Trevorrow has taken over the directing job of the epic action-adventure movie that stars Chris Pratt of Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” fame.
Joining Pratt in the latest of the dinosaur film are Bryce Dallas Howard, Judy Greer, Ty Simpkins and Jake Johnson. “Jurassic World” happens to be Trevorrow’s first ever major franchise in his directing career.
‘Jurassic World’ sequels
Even before “Jurassic World” hits the theaters in June, there’s already good news straight from the production team of the fourth film of the dinosaur movie franchise.
Apparently, plans are now in the works for the development of the “Jurassic World” sequel because the movie has been slated to become a trilogy in the first place.
Unlike the haphazard development of the “Jurassic Park” sequels which was due to the film’s immense blockbuster success, the production team is not leaving anything to chance this time around in the development of the “Jurassic World” sequels.
With the sequels already in mind, fans are already guessing who among the stars of the upcoming “Jurassic World” would live another day for the sequel or sequels of the film.
