Jurassic World is two years away, but the team behind this movie constantly teases the fans regarding what they can expect. The new movie will be a follow-up to the one released back in 2015. From the looks of it, there is a lot more to the title than what one can expect.
It will be the fifth installment in the Jurassic franchise and after a successful reception of the previous Colin Trevorrow masterpiece, the second movie has a big space to fill. From the looks of it, Director J.A Bayona wishes to please through his sci-fi continuity and on-going expertise.
The Playlist reports that J.A Bayona said that after his work on the popular sci-fi drama ‘A Monster Calls’ and ‘The Impossible,’ he wishes to enjoy with the powerhouse Jurassic franchise, established by the great Steven Spielberg. He wants to make this dinosaur movie bigger than the last one and present a scarier, darker and grimmer approach.
Intriguingly enough, he said that his job would be made a little more complex with what appears to be a catch for Jurassic World 2. He wants to make the upcoming movie a Jurassic Park 5 as well and include his touch, as reported by The Independent.
Bayona added that he was surprised when the story was pitched to him because it will lead the story to a place that has never been seen before and it introduces some of the vital elements from the other films and making something significant out of them.
He thought that it was very interesting. It will be the trilogy’s second chapter as a result of which, it takes the story to a place that makes you want for more. The movie is scheduled to release on 22nd June 2018. Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt will be reprising their roles as well.
People who know J.A Bayona, know him for The Orphanage. It was his first film that got really big in the U.S. It was assisted by the fact that it belonged to the horror genre and was produced by Guillermo Del Toro. Sadly, Bayona is still quite unknown. It will all change when this movie hits the theaters, and he is quite optimistic about it.
After Safety Not Guaranteed by Colin Trevorrow had made a big splash, he took on the first movie and came out in flying colors. Meanwhile, he will be in charge of Star Wars Episode IX. A Monster Calls by Bayona will open in American theaters in a few weeks.
As a result, he is quite excited about his increasing prospects, determined that he is ready to tackle a blockbuster. Bayona told The Playlist that he wishes to have fun now. He wants to do a dinosaur film with Spielberg.
It will be great, but at the same time, it will be much bigger and massive than the last one. Meanwhile, considering what he plans to bring to this series, his mind is filled with innovative ideas for the movie.
One of the main criticisms faced by Jurassic World was that it was quite derivative from the original Jurassic Park film. There was hardly anything new, and it concentrated more on odd cynical nostalgia. However, Bayona reports that his movie will go someplace completely new. It will be so now that he was surprised that it was even suggested in the first place.
He thinks that what is tricky about the new franchise is bringing in new staff while still managing to pay tribute to what people know and the overall legacy of the film. Therefore, it deals with a balance between the new and old stuff.
