The pair met while filming “The Rum Diary” in 2009. They started dating when Depp split from his long-term love, and the mother of his two children, Vanessa Paradis in 2012.
They married in February 2015 in a private civil ceremony at their home in Los Angeles. Heard then filed for divorce last May and was then granted a restraining order against the A-list actor, Yahoo Celebrity reports.
Last year, the couple was also in hot waters for flying their dogs Boo and Pistol to Australia via private jet without declaration. Amber was on her way to visit her husband who was filming the latest installment of “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
Apparently, Australia maintains a quarantine regulation that aims to keep rabies out of the country wherein they require dogs outside the country to be quarantined for a minimum of 10 days.
In July 2015, Heard was charged by the Australian government for two counts of illegally importing the dogs into the country and one count of producing a false document.
Last April, she appeared in the Magistrates Court in Southport, Queensland and pleaded guilty to falsifying quarantine documents. She was put on a one-month good behavior bond and fined $1,000 for producing a false document.
