Johnny Deep to Make His First TV Appearance Since Split with Amber Heard

Johnny Depp is set to make his first US TV appearance since his controversial split with wife Amber Heard.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor will play with his band Hollywood Vampires, alongside fellow members Alice Cooper and Joe Perry, on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Monday.

It’s still unknown if the guesting stint will include an interview, but the Daily Mail reports that the band is currently booked as the show’s musical act as the episode will also feature Bryan Cranston and Busy Philipps.

Depp’s band have been touring Europe and the U.S over the last few months in support of their self-titled debut album back in February.

Heard filed divorce from the 53-year-old actor last May after 15 months of marriage claiming that she had been a victim of domestic abuse.

The 30-year-old actress showed up to court without makeup and highlighted a bruise on her right cheek that she claimed was a result of Depp smashing his iPhone into her face two days before she filed for divorce.

Since news of their divorce came spiraling out, Depp has yet to speak about the claims but his friends and other celebrities have made statements in support of the “Sweeney Todd” actor including comedian Doug Stanhope and actor Benicio Del Toro.

His daughter, Lily Rose Depp, has also stood by his father’s side claiming that Heard’s allegations are nowhere near true and that his father is a good man.

Last week, Depp was all smiles as he waved to his fans while heading into his band’s gig at Coney Island in New York.

The “Alice in Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass” actor plays guitar and sings back-up for the band. Depp was pictured smiling from ear to ear. He sported a worn-out black T-shirt with baggy blue jeans with paint spots and fades.

He capped off his rocker look with black leather lace-up boots as he tied a camouflage jacket around his waist along with a scarf draped out of his denim pocket.

The Hollywood Vampires’ gig had a scary moment as Depp’s bandmate and legendary guitarist Joe Perry fell ill and had to leave the stage.

The 65-year-old Aerosmith member sat down and struggled to play during the first song before he had to be treated backstage. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but his health status has since stabilized, according to reports.

Depp’s performance for his band comes just days after reports saying that he has turned to self-expression to help him cope with how his divorce with Amber is affecting him.

As per TMZ, the actor had even altered his tattoo on his right hand. The award-winning actor inked his knuckles with the word ‘SLIM,’ which happens to be Amber’s nickname, shortly after they married in February last year.

However, a series of photos of the actor shows that his right knuckles now read the word ‘SCUM’ on it. Depp was recording a video message for 95.5 KLOS with a microphone in his right hand when fans spotted a glimpse of his knuckle dedication.

The actor is known for placing body markings in tribute of his relationships. In 1990, he also altered his tattoo on his bicep that reads “Winona Forever” to “Wino Forever” after a high-profile break-up with actress Winona Ryder.

Johnny and Amber did not have a prenuptial agreement, which entitles “The Ward” actress half the money he made over the course of their relationship, which looks to be somewhere between $20 and $30 million.

Amber also asked the judge for spousal support and her legal fees to be covered during the divorce, but that was rejected by the court. A court hearing to consider abuse claims was originally due to take place in June but was postponed to August 15.
