There are probably going to be some readjustments in the Charlotte Hornets coming up in their next games, after the team delivered a somewhat underwhelming season during the last year. While they had their small moments here and there, for the most part the Hornets ended up in a pretty bad position and it was clear that they’re in need of some reevaluation of their plans.
They have various new players in their charts now and this should give them an opportunity to see themselves returning to the top positions, but we don’t know if those changes are going to reflect on their game immediately the next time they step out against another team, or if we’ll need to wait a little while before their players get fully adjusted to working with each other.
But in any case, one of the rumors for the future of the team claims that Jeremy Lin will most probably be playing alongside Kemba Walker, as this is rumored to be the current plan of Steve Clifford, the team’s coach. This came as a bit of a surprise to some fans of the sport – and the team in particular – as it’s an unusual strategy, especially given both players and their history with the game.
Having these two guards running alongside each other at the same time could prove interesting in the long run if they learn to handle their respective playing styles correctly, and it might even end up working out in favor of the team. The Hornets have been a bit poor on the offensive side lately and this kind of combination could improve their standing on the court in this regard, but it can also backfire if they’re not careful in how they use it.
Because of this, fans have been hopeful that the team is planning out their games very carefully if this rumor is true, and that we’re going to see a calculated play instead of watching the Hornets resort to basically using brute force in order to get their desired results. A little bit of good strategy could go a long way towards ensuring that the team finishes in a good spot this time, and we’re confident that everyone on this team knows how to coordinate their efforts in order to make the most from a well-developed plan too.
Some critics have also pointed out that putting Lin and Walker together could actually prove disastrous to the team, as it would mean essentially removing one of the main advantages that the Hornets have had in the past. Both players aren’t very good on the defense, and this could reflect badly on the overall performance of the team. But on the other hand, as we said above, it mostly comes down to solid planning and the ability of players to work well between themselves.
The poor defensive capabilities of both Lin and Walker could be ultimately compensated by other players on the team if everything works out correctly, so that shouldn’t be such a major issue.
The main problem that some see with the current configuration of the team is the overall poor shooting potential of everyone involved. Walker and Lin have some poor track records themselves and they likely aren’t going to be able to provide much accuracy to the overall configuration of the team. On the other hand, there might be other changes in the roster happening in the background that we aren’t even aware of, which could add a new context to this situation.
