Jeremy Lin Prays to Establish Strong Chemistry with Charlotte Hornets Head Coach Steve Clifford!

After going through a tumultuous year with the Los Angeles Lakers in the past NBA season that was also highlighted by a not-so-good rapport with head coach Byron Scott, Jeremy Lin is hopeful that things will change for the better now that he’s already donning the Charlotte Hornets uniform.

In fact, Jeremy Lin, who is about to turn 27 years old on August 23, in his official website, posted his prayer as part of his third annual Fan Appreciation Week.

Highlighting his prayer is for him to be able to establish strong chemistry with his new coach Steve Clifford and bond immediately with his new teammates in Charlotte Hornets, notes Christian Today.

The Harvard graduate also asks for prayers for his younger brother who also started a career as a professional basketball player in a league in Taiwan. He told his fans to pray that his brother would not stray from God no matter the amount of success or failure he may encounter throughout his basketball career.

Jeremy also prayed for his older brother as he begins his dental pediatrics residency, hoping that he would transition smoothly and find great purpose in glorifying the Almighty through dentistry.

He wrapped up his prayer by praising God for giving him an army of prayer warriors, in the form of his millions of fans.

A new beginning

Jeremy Lin hopes to have a new beginning to his NBA basketball career with the Charlotte Hornets after he was signed for a two-year $4.3 million contract, which is quite a drastic pay cut from the $8.5 million salary he got from the Lakers playing for just one season.

Before being picked up by the Charlotte Hornets from the free agency market, there were rumors that the Dallas Mavericks was looking to take him in alongside DeAndre Jordan and Wesley Matthews, but it never materialized.

During summer, in addition to playing basketball in practice, Jeremy Lin is also a busy person. He recently acted as an eSport analyst for the 2015 International Dota 2 Championships, details the Gospel Herald.

Jeremy Lin is an avid “Dota 2” player and he is not shy of admitting that he likes playing the video game as much as he does playing basketball.

He revealed that during regular NBA season, he plays a decent amount of “Dota 2” because he goes to the hotel after games on the road so he plays practically every night or three times a week at the very least.

Jeremy Lin also explained that the five-on-five nature of the video game also needs an atmosphere of teamwork which is also the same in the game of basketball.

So when people ask him why he is so into “Dota 2,” Jeremy says that the video game is like basketball. It’s 5-on-5, and there are three types of positions too. He added that as players go on the higher levels of the game, it’s all about teamwork and it’s all about how everyone in the team performs their roles. That is the very same essence of playing basketball and is always the key to team victories.

A better ball player

While it is too premature to say or even think that Jeremy Lin would be a better ball player with the Charlotte Hornets compared to his one-year stint with the Los Angeles Lakers during the past NBA season.

But the huge number of supporters of the soon to be 27-year-old Harvard graduate really believes that a second coming of Linsanity is bound to come soon. Many believe that it would finally happen as the American-Taiwanese plays as a sixth man for the Charlotte Hornets.

It could be remembered that Jeremy Lin showcased his wares during a 17-game Linsanity run while playing for the New York Knicks during the 2011-12 NBA season. He came off the bench then as the Knicks were without star forward Carmelo Anthony who was out with an injury.

  1. I am not sure how does praying for chemistry work in NBA.
I do believe God in his infinite wisdom, does not play favors in any basketball game. The old saying of “God help those help themselves” hold true here. Jeremy Lin need to upgrade his game then all the chemistry shall come.
If not, no amount of team chemistry can save him or the team.
