Meanwhile, there are reports saying that the New York Knicks is looking to go after Jeremy Lin in the upcoming summer free agency.
Given his excellent play during the past season and also during the seven games of the Hornets in the first round playoffs in the Eastern Conference with the Miami Heat, Jeremy Lin is certainly worth the $2.2 million he will be getting from the Hornets should he not opt out and renegotiate his contract.
The Knicks have plenty of salary cap space and could actually offer him a big contract. But in a recent interview, Lin said that he does not care all that much about money.
He said that he has been paid on the lower end and had a blast and he has also been paid on the higher end but did not enjoy it at all. He explained that money only becomes important because it shows how a team values a particular player, notes Fansided.
That being said, it is unlikely for Jeremy Lin to play for any NBA team other than the Hornets next season but he will definitely get a more equitable salary from the organization that is way higher than his $2.2 million annual pay last year.
