Jeremy Lin is Ready to Take the Mantle of a Team Leader, Brooklyn Nets Management Says!

Atkinson revealed that Lin has already taken on the responsibility of mentoring rookie Isaiah Whitehead, who is learning how to play the point.

Whitehead said that Jeremy shows him things in practice, and just about using screen-and-rolls. He explained that when he is guarding Jeremy, there are certain things Lin does, and he just tries to pick up on that. He thinks Jeremy Lin is a great player in the league, and he is going to try to pick his brain.

Doc Scheppler, the long-time personal shooting coach of Jeremy Lin thinks that his ward will have a higher shooting percentage because after he takes his warm-ups an hour and a half before the game, he does his regular pregame shooting 20 minutes before tip-off. Lin also does not sit on the bench now that he is the starting point guard for the Nets so he is always warmed up and will surely help his percentage, details the New York Post.

Scheppler is one of three shooting coaches Lin is getting suggestions from. He also works with David Nurse, who worked with the Nets last season, and Adam Harrington, who was Kevin Durant’s shooting specialist in OKC and is now director of player development in Brooklyn.
