Accordingly, the Bulls need a reliable option for a point guard as Derrick Rose’s health status continues to fluctuate.
Given his importance to the team, it would take a lot for the Bulls to put a really good offer on the table for them to be able to pry Jeremy Lin from the Hornet. But if the Taiwanese-American opts out of the Hornets, the Bulls can certainly offer him a long-term starting point guard position, especially with the fact that the contract of Derrick Rose will also be expiring next season.
A starting point guard position would be a good bait to lure Jeremy Lin out of the Charlotte Hornets since he would not be able to get it playing for the team since it has already invested in Kemba Walker and rightfully so.
Getting Lin to suit up for the Bulls would certainly shore up the backcourt of the Windy City franchise since Jimmy Butler has been playing the three spot extensively and doing wonders too.
There is a good chance that if the Hornets make the playoffs in April, Jeremy Lin would stick with the team but if they are bundled out just like in the previous years, he is likely to opt out his two-year contract and become a free agent once again.
