Brooklyn Nets are keeping all their faith on Jeremy Lin’s return. The player seems to have incurred a hamstring injury during his last game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Nets are still hoping that Lin can be back on the team to help them win.
Jeremy Lin last played in the Brooklyn Nets’ lineup after Christmas. According to Inquisitr, the Nets are missing Lin on the team, and their success is in his hand. Lin might have only played about 12 matches in the current season, but he has averaged 14 points, six rebounds and also three assists.
Without him, the Brooklyn Nets started their league match with the worst performance. They could only manage 8-31. Even though the Linsanity is sitting it out, he continues to rule the hearts and minds of the fans.
The fans will continue to vote for him to help finish eighth among all Eastern Conference guards. The fans will make sure that he ends way in front of Avery Bradley, Bradley Beal, and even Kemba Walker. Lin seems to lose out only in front of stars like Isaiah Thomas, Kyrie Irving, Derrick Rose, Dwayne Wade, Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan and finally John Wall.
Coach Kenny Atkinson said that he loves Lin’s competitive zeal, but didn’t mention anything about his current medical condition. Lin has been asked not to talk to the media while he recuperates. Atkinson has said that all the team wants, is for Lin to get better and they would love to see him back on the side, playing with the boys.
Lin might have informed the media that he would be back on the court soon, but Brooklyn Nets’ general manager Sean Marks told NY Post that Lin has aggravated his hamstring injury and might have to sit it out for the at least three to five weeks.
Lin was expected to be the floor leader for the Nets, but his injury forced the team to their worst 9-35. Jeremy Lin ended up missing 32 of the 44 matches played. The team surely wants Jeremy Lin to be back quickly, but they have adopted a long-term approach on the matter.
Marks confirmed that everyone is on board with the new plan. The team is very cautious since they do not want to rush Jeremy Lin into anything that might worsen the situation. Jeremy Lin issued a statement saying that his third injury was a significant setback.
This is his third hamstring injury, and Lin stated that it was mentally draining. The constant to-and-fro between healthy and injured is taxing. If he had surgery, he knew he would recover and be back on his feet soon, but these injuries take an unprecedented amount of time, and there’s no surety on when it will be back.
Lin first injured himself in the 2nd November match, but then he had hobbled back into court on 26th December. Lin is hopeful that he would be in action in the next week, but the injury might force him to sit out for the All-Star season and longer.
Lin started the season with a lot of promise, from a backup point guard he was the floor leader and had put a lot of training and hard work for the same. He got a new chance, which helped him gain a lot of confidence. Lin confessed that he had finally got the position that he wanted and found a perfect balance with his coach and right then he had to suffer the hamstring injury.
