Meanwhile, Matt Damon himself has been trying to clear up the situation surrounding his previous controversial statements, claiming that they had been taken out of context. And while that might be true, putting this event together with other instances where Damon has been inappropriate lately might paint a different picture.
Damon likely won’t lose many fans over this incident though, especially considering that there probably isn’t much of an overlap between him and Jennifer Lopez in the community of film lovers.
On the other hand, according to some, if he keeps up with those comments for some more time, this could result in his reputation being permanently affected – and not in a good way. It wouldn’t be the first time an actor was affected like that.
For what it’s worth, Matt Damon has good skills and it would be a shame to see his image tarnished by a poor ability to manage his public statements, but the actor himself is the only one who’s able to control what he does and prevent that from happening. No matter what he might think of the relationships between his colleagues – and friends – he should probably keep those thoughts in his private circle instead of trying to make them as public as possible.
