Even though Jennifer Lopez has been generally passive when it comes to celebrity drama, nobody in the spotlight is safe from getting dragged into some unfavorable situations, especially when it comes to celebrities throwing dirt at each other. Recently, Matt Damon has expressed some criticism over Jennifer Lopez, accusing her of problems that have been surrounding another celebrity, Ben Affleck. According to some, the accusations have been nothing short of ridiculous, and many fans of Lopez have been critical of Damon himself because of these claims.
What Damon specifically said was that the relationship between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez was to blame for the fact that Affleck was so commonly being targeted with negative opinions in the press some time ago. He went on to add that Jennifer Lopez had made Ben Affleck look like a meathead when they were in a relationship, according to reports, which further added to the negative perception that he “enjoyed” in the press.
It sounds strange to even follow the train of thought that led to those statements, according to many fans of both celebrities who have been following the news and discussing the events on forums. It sounds like he’s just going on a bit of a rant for unknown reasons, and what he said is actually not even that strange in general, in the context of some previous comments that he made which were quite controversial and landed him in the middle of a lot of negativity.
Some members of the press have sarcastically pointed out that the lack of success that once surrounded Ben Affleck might be better attributed to his choice of roles during that period of time, as he took part in some rather questionable films including the 2003 “Gigli”, which still has the reputation of one of the poorest performing productions in Hollywood.
With all that in mind, it’s pretty clear that Matt Damon might be talking some nonsense there, and he should probably back off a bit and stop making public comments at the moment. It’s clear that the actor has a lot to say about the celebrity world that he’s so deeply involved in, but at the same time, his comments have lately been seen as very harmful to his image by some publications.
It’s not rare for celebrities to have something more personal to say about the situations that surround them and their colleagues, but these attacks don’t always evolve into two-sided arguments. Jennifer Lopez hasn’t responded to the “accusations” so far, and some of her fans have commended her for this, claiming that it’s an overall pretty classy move and that she should continue to avoid getting involved in the drama that Matt Damon is trying to create.
Not that this will deter the actor from moving even further with his comments though – if he wants to keep stirring up controversy, he definitely will do that. But he’s more likely to move on to another target if Jennifer Lopez doesn’t respond anytime soon.
