Jennifer Lawrence’s Two Blockbuster Movies Propel Her to Become the World’s Highest Paid Actress, More Details

Forbes has officially released the roster of the world’s highest paid actresses for the June 2014 to June 2015 period and it hardly came as a surprise that Jennifer Lawrence topped the Forbes list.

For the specific period covered by the valuation, Jennifer Lawrence actually made two blockbuster movies – “X-Men: Days of the Future Past” and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” – both released in 2014, notes IGN.

She was the lead star in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” while she only played as a supporting cast in “X-Men: Days of the Future Past.” Jennifer also did one other film, “Serena” during the period covered by the Forbes valuation.

For those three films, she earned a staggering $52 million, which was certainly more than enough to shoot her on top of the list of the highest paid actress on a global scale. Coming in at a distant second place is Scarlett Johansson, with $35.5 million, which she earned playing The Black Widow in Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” among others. Third on the list is Melissa McCarthy who netted $23 million for her blockbuster movie “The Bridesmaids.”

And for the first time ever, a non-American actress made it to the list with the inclusion of Chinese actress Bingbing Fan, who placed fourth with $21 million earnings for her roles in movies like “The White-Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom” and “X-Men: Days of the Future Past,” cites Forbes.

Rounding up the top five is actress and a perennial mainstay in the Forbes list Angelina Jolie, netting $16.5 million during the period covered by the valuation.

The earnings of the actresses in the list actually include endorsement deals and income from other appearances on TV or in public.

Likely to remain on top

With her upcoming movie “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” which is expected to join the roster of this year’s certified blockbuster movies, many are expecting that Jennifer Lawrence would remain on the top of the list when next year’s valuation is posted.

She also has another movie titled “Joy” currently in post-production and will be released late this year or early next year.

J-Law will once again play Mystique for the third and last time in “X-Men: Apocalypse” due to hit theaters in May next year. Those three movies will certainly be more than enough to strengthen her grasp on the No. 1 spot for next year’s valuation.

Excited for the return of Katniss

With barely four months to go before the release of her film “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2,” Jennifer Lawrence has shared the movie poster early last month featuring herself as lead protagonist Katniss Everdeen.

She is seen wearing a crimson suit from top to bottom, which was also the same as the colors of the arrows on her back, while primly sitting on a tall white chair that seems to represent the throne most likely.

From the appearance of the poster, it actually seems like Katniss Everdeen is not the rebel she is portraying in the film but actually looked more like a superhero in the shades of Hawkeye or the Arrow.

The poster also reads ‘The fire will burn forever,’ which is an allusion to Katniss moniker in the movie as the ‘girl on fire’ as she rallies the people to rebel with the help of President Alma Coin, played by Julianne Moore in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.”

Subsequently, a short video clip, which is referred to by the producers as a motion poster, was revealed to excite fans on the upcoming “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” and also continue highlighting Katniss Everdeen as a superhero.
