Jennifer Lawrence Wasn’t Looking Forward to Her Role in Hunger Games: Why

“Hunger Games” was a major contributing factor to the career of Jennifer Lawrence, and it’s probably safe to assume that she doesn’t regret joining the production. She gained a lot of fame during her work on that set, and her current status is based to a large extent on that role. However, as the actress recently revealed, she wasn’t actually very keen on the idea of working on that production at first, and she was actually somewhat terrified.

The reason was, apparently, the sheer popularity of the production, and the fan attachment that came along with it. She realized that she was about to take part in the portrayal of something loved by numerous people, and she was quite afraid that she might ruin it for them. Not only that, but she also felt that a poor performance in that production would have spelled the end of her career, as it would have been the main thing people remember about her for a long time.

And yet, when the actual shooting started, Lawrence gave it her 100%, and it shows clearly in every shot of the series. When the first part of the “Hunger Games” came out in 2012, it was met with a lot of critical and fan approval, and the producers were given the confidence boost they needed to push the series to its limits, as they made the following months quite busy for the entire crew.

And things weren’t exactly easy for Lawrence herself with regards to her own schedule either, as she was also working on “X-Men: First Class” and another production while also contributing to “Hunger Games”, and she had to do quite a lot of work to keep her schedule as organized as possible without getting overloaded with tasks.

In addition, there was also a lot of interaction with the press as part of an ongoing effort to promote the films, and Lawrence had to take part in that as well – something which took its own toll on her schedule and her ability to be present where she was needed at the right time.

It seems that the events during that period didn’t completely pass her by without leaving a mark, as the actress reported passing out at one point, just before the premiere of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”, as she was over exhausted and was suffering from severe stomach pains. Since then, she seems to have calmed down her schedule a little bit, although it’s probably a bit hard to maintain one’s working time in proper order in an environment as busy as that of the typical set for a production of this magnitude.
