The rise of Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence to superstardom never ceases and she seems to be evolving further for her every film project.
She was in Paris, France on November 28 to promote her new film, “Passengers” and she was scintillating in a star-struck outfit that made her look like a princess, reports Yahoo! Style.
J-Law’s outfit was taken directly from the runway of the Dior Spring Summer 2017 Ready-to-Wear show, featuring a gray cashmere and Lurex sweater with one huge gold star in the middle and smaller ones dotted all around it.
She paired it with a floor-length gray tulle skirt covered in gold embroidered bugs that look like stars from afar. Her skirt is also see-through and showed off her toned legs and matching booty shorts.
On the hem of the sweater, there is an embroidered French word “L’Etoile” which means “The Star,” which is really tantamount to her status in Hollywood.
No stranger to daring outfits
“The Hunger Games” star is no stranger to wearing daring outfits that often shows some skin. In fact, she recently wore La Perla lingerie as a top during the “La La Land” premiere recently, which was a film starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
She chose to wear her celestial ensemble during the premiere of her latest movie because “Passengers” is actually about space exploration so she was merely dressing the part.
J-Law also complemented the glimmer with a delicate chain choker and a low, wavy ponytail with a few loose strands framing her face.
Lawrence has always taken a playful approach to her personal style and never shies away from trying on the season’s most fashion-forward trends for size, be that logomania, boudoir dressing, or Angelina Jolie-style slit dresses, notes Vogue.
Her look during the “Passengers” took the actress’s wardrobe in a more whimsical direction, without losing any of the casual cool that makes Lawrence so approachable.
Fighting against sexism in the business
Despite claims of gender equality in the movie business, sexism still exists in Hollywood and big name actors and actresses know it too.
Jennifer Lawrence, the world’s highest-paid actress for the period from June 2014 to June 2015 according to Forbes magazine, believes that female actors should learn to fight for equal pay with fellow actors without being branded as difficult or spoiled.
“The Hunger Games” actress actually made the revelation through an essay that she wrote and posted on Lena Dunham’s site where she dwelt on her anger at getting paid less than her male co-stars in one past movie.
Lawrence was referring to “American Hustle,” where she got paid less than her fellow co-star Bradley Cooper. Apparently, the actress got wind or the leaked e-mails from Sony late in 2014 and found out that Sony boss Amy Pascal revealed that Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams were paid much less than their other co-stars in the movie.
She said that she did not get mad at Sony nor was she mad at her fellow actors. She said that she is mad at herself for failing as a negotiator and not being able to make more money for herself.
Incidentally, Jennifer Lawrence said that she is now trying to find an adorable way of stating her opinion while remaining likable when dealing or negotiating salaries or wages with Hollywood producers.
The “”Selena” star says that she would be lying if she did not say there was an element of wanting to be liked that influenced her decision to close the negotiation and agree to the deal without a real fight.
She says that she does not simply want to be branded as difficult or spoiled just like what Angelina Jolie was branded when she negotiated for a higher salary from Sony.
