Jennifer Lawrence is not a Great Movie Star, Says Chloe Sevigny, And More

Jennifer Lawrence is one of the most popular and well-liked Hollywood actresses today. But as the saying goes, you cannot please everybody.

Apparently, 40-year-old actress Chloe Sevigny of “American Psycho” thinks that J-Law is not a great movie star in the calibre of Angelina Jolie.

In a recent interview with V magazine, she says that she loves a movie star who is a great movie star and she does not see Jennifer Lawrence being one. In fact, Chloe Sevigny thinks that the “The Hunger Games” actress is too crass and she finds her annoying too.

“The American Horror Story: Asylum” actress admits that she is not a fan of Jennifer Lawrence because she likes Emma Stone better, reports The Independent.

While Jennifer Lawrence has been a Best Actress Oscar winner at a young age of 21, she has remained humble and funny during interviews.

And it was a bit of a surprise why Chloe Sevigny would describe her as too crass; unless she was referring to the nude photo scandal last year that also included the “Serena” actress.

Speaking for herself

Sevigny was actually discussing during the interview how actor’s personalities play a major role on the success of their acting careers.

She admits that she is the type of person, despite being an actress, who shies away from the spotlight. She also thinks that she does not have the right star quality to become a Hollywood A-lister like many others, without mentioning the name of Jennifer Lawrence.

The “Big Love” star also added that her lack of charisma is one of the key reasons why she has not landed stronger and big roles in her career, which she describes as not being able to reach another level as an actress.

Sevigny said that people are now looking more to Hollywood stars on their personality rather than on their acting abilities. She says that she would like to be respected more as an actress and not on her rather introvert personality.

Not complaining

Chloe says that she is not complaining about anything because she has had great opportunities in her acting career but she feels that she could have done more if she only had that usual charisma for the more popular Hollywood actresses, without mentioning again Jennifer Lawrence.

She says that so much in Hollywood these days has become like marketing and selling the product more than what it can do. Star quality now has more value than star capability, Sevigny said.

Sevigny has recently worked with Rizzoli on a new coffee table book, which depicts the celebration of bad taste. She explained that everyone has become obsessed with good taste. She finds it boring.

She explained that she was really selective and wanted to set a mood and capture the spirit of being pretty and also being sexy but of different kind.
