Willow Shields, the young co-star of Jennifer Lawrence in “The Hunger Games” movie series, is now getting her shot of show business fame and she appears to be basking on it at the moment.
She started in the business as a precocious 10-year-old and now at 14, she is the youngest contestant to ever compete in “Dancing with the Stars.” But despite her newfound fame, Willow remains grounded, which she attributes to the advice of Jennifer Lawrence, one of the most popular Hollywood actresses today.
Willow says that she considers the Oscar-winning actress as an older sister because Jennifer has been very supportive of her from the start, details Yahoo! Celebrity.
The young star said that she and J-Law has built a fantastic relationship between them. She disclosed that “The Hunger Games” actress never hesitated in giving her words of wisdom which have become her guiding light on her continued rise to stardom.
Stay grounded
The “Dancing with the Stars” contestant revealed that Jennifer Lawrence told her to always remain humble and stay who she was despite the increasing fame and popularity.
She said that J-Law started giving her the advices when she was just 10 and she really can’t comprehend then what Jennifer was talking about. But now she is beginning to appreciate what her big sister in Hollywood had told her and continues to tell her at every opportunity she can get.
Willow recalled Jennifer telling her to stay who she was because that is the only way she can be successful in the entertainment industry because producers cast a person for a reason. So if by some stroke of fate, she changes, then chances are, producers would not be looking to her like they used to.
She also appreciates how J-Law practices what she preaches because despite of her Oscar award in 2012 and her immense popularity these days with films coming to her left and right, the star has remained grounded.
An inspiration
Willow says that she considers Jennifer Lawrence an inspiration in the business. She disclosed that the actress has never changed one bit from the time they started filming “The Hunger Games” back in 2011 until completing the fourth film last year “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” which will hit theaters in November this year.
The 14-year-old really finds it incredible to see that J-Law remained who she was four years ago. She almost cannot believe for somebody who has become so popular in Hollywood to stay humble that is why the 24-year-old actress is really worth emulating.
Willow is participating in “Dancing with the Stars” with professional dance partner Mark Ballas. She says that they are making their dance routine age-appropriate and not sexy. She said that she and Mark thought about their routines and decided to make it really fun and sassy.
