Jennifer Aniston has been in the business for a long time and really gained a following with her hot to trot character on the television show Friends. Since that show has ended, the actress has found herself in a few movies here and there with the latest getting quite a bit of praise from critics. The latest movie of hers, called Cake, was not one that made the list at the latest Oscars. Jennifer Aniston made a comment about being snubbed for an Oscar while on the red carpet for the Critic’s Choice Awards.
Her latest movie, Cake, was not even nominated despite the fact that critics think that it was one of the most dramatic performances of her otherwise comedic career. She was hoping for and others were easily on her side to be at least nominated for Best Actress, but that was not the case the movie was left off all lists for the Oscars. The movie, she said, still had the Golden Globes, SAGs and the Critics Choice Awards.
Jennifer Aniston did say there was a “aw” moment when she found out, but she stayed up beat about it and looking forward to her next big role on the silver screen. Jennifer Aniston was not expecting the kind of exposure that she got now that the movie is out and called the recognition the movie got an “embarrassment of wonderful riches”. Best Actress Oscars are not just given out to anyone, but with Jennifer Aniston’s track record and plentiful nominations for other awards, it seemed she might be a shoe in.
The Oscars instead decided to nominate Marion Cotillard, Rosamund Pike, Felicity Jones, Reese Witherspoon and Julianne Moore. In the meantime, Jennifer Aniston is not going to focus on the snub, she is going to keep in mind that she had a great time filming the indie role and participating in the movie made her happy. Even though the film has yet to be released, it has been making the circuits on critic’s word and that says a lot about any movie.
Jennifer Aniston called the movie experience a “cherries on top” sort of thing and also noted that two of the Oscar nominees have reached out to her to show their support for her role in the indie film. Julianne Moore and Reese Witherspoon both commented on how they were supporting Jennifer Aniston in emails sent to the star. Jennifer Aniston stated they are both such “amazing women” and that they were all rooting for each other from the beginning.
