Power couple Jay Z and Beyonce Knowles hosted the annual pre-Grammy Roc Nation brunch on February 7 at a posh Beverly Hills mansion that was attended by A-list celebrities in the music industry and a lot more guests.
Roc Nation is a full-service entertainment company put up by Jay Z in 2008. The company provides artist management, music publishing, touring, merchandising, film, television, and independent record label. It has offices in New York, Los Angeles and London.
Despite being a midday event and also the intermittent rain that was the main feature of the weather that day, the Roc Nation brunch, held in a glamorous garden outdoor setting, was beaming with stars all over.
An event as big as Roc Nation also gave the opportunity for reality star Kim Kardashian to join rapper-husband Kanye West to the party, who at one point during the celebration were holding court with the host couple, reports MSN News from an AP report.
Kim Kardashian was also present despite of the news that her stepfather Bruce Jenner, just survived a fatal car accident in Malibu a few hour earlier but unhurt nonetheless.
Star-studded afternoon
It was a star-studded afternoon alright and saw singer-rapper Rihanna braving the rain without an umbrella, Kanye West displaying his new sneakers, Kim Kardashian in all her glamorous self, and many other music celebrities, one would already think that it was already the Grammy’s.
There were also Nicky Minaj, Willow Smith, Diplo, Childish Gambino, and many of the current hip hop stars.
Roc Nation’s VIP guests contented themselves inside the tents as the intermittent rain showers literally doused cold water on the four-hour event. There was also Michael Bolton, along with Demi Lovato, Janelle Monae, Kelly Rowland, Miguel, J. Cole, Nick Jonas, Keke Palmer, among many others.
Guests also arrived early for the event this time around to avoid being caught in traffic, which was a common feature of the Roc Nation annual pre-Grammy’s brunch. Natasha Bedingfiled and Diane Waren, for instance, were brought to the venue in a shuttle to avoid being caught in traffic.
A coveted invitation
Getting invited to the Jay Z’s Roc Nation brunch is really a big deal among music celebrities and other guests from the industry.
It has become one of the most coveted invites during the Grammy week and those who shall be able to receive an invitation are not even guaranteed that they could get in to the event. If they show up fashionably late, then they will most likely not able to get in.
Last year, there were just too much people who attended the event, which prompted security to close the gates and leave many, who were holding invites, out of it and feeling left out.
The Grammy Awards is slated on February 8.
