Jared Leto is not taking any chances as far as his Joker persona in the upcoming DC comics-based movie “Suicide Squad” is concerned.
Other than his occasional teases on his Instagram account coupled with a few more from Director David Ayer, there is hardly anyone outside of the film production crew who really knows how Jared Leto looks like as his Joker character in the upcoming movie, due to hit theaters on August 5, 2016.
Apparently, filming has began for “Suicide Squad” so any public appearance by Jared Leto, if he is not careful, would reveal and compromise his look to the eyes of the public, particularly the prying eyes of the media.
So he has been very careful really. And it seems that has become his mantra for his public appearances lately, including one where he took part in a recent concert of his band Thirty Seconds to Mars while performing in Ischgi, Austria.
Flashy look or hiding something?
During Thirty Seconds to Mars’ Top of the Mountains recent concert, the 43-year-old Jared Leto was dressed in a ridiculous costume that one would hardly recognized him as he is if not for the fact that he was part of the band and he was introduced as Jared Leto.
Although he is known to be eccentric in his ways including how he dresses himself, it is very obvious that Jared Leto wanted to camouflage his real look from inside.
Over his head, he was wearing a goat spirit hood and sported a baggy red and grey zip-up jacket featuring splatter-paint accents. He complemented it with oversized coat with slim black trousers and crimson stripes on the side. Jared further matched it with black high-top sneakers featuring scarlet soles, details the Daily Mail.
Some say that he was representing his Zodiac sign for his appearance since he is a Capricorn but for those keen observers, Jared Leto was dressed in such a way to hide his green hair and his bulging physique underneath those loose costumes.
He has been filming “Suicide Squad” since last month so when he removes all those ridiculous costumes and head gear, he becomes the Joker with a physique of a superhero, since the “Suicide Squad” is basically a group of villains-turned-superheroes including himself.
Buckling down to work
Filming for “Suicide Squad” has began last month. Prior to the start of filming, Director Ayer announced the three new cast members to the movie including Ike Barinholtz of “The Mindy Project,” Jim Parrack of “True Blood,” and Adam Beach of “Flags of our Fathers.”
Reports indicate that Barinholtz will play the role of Hugo Strange, Parrack is cast as Deathstroke, and Beach is set to play the villain role of Ravan.
